CARE AND USE INSTRUCTIONS

SAFETY WARNINGS

Please read all safety information carefully before use.

  • Never leave cookware unattended while in use and do not allow children near the stove while cooking.
  • Use caution when handling hot cookware. Make sure the handles do not extend over the edge of the stove and do not allow handles to extend over an in-use burner or they may become hot resulting in a burn hazard.
  • If the handle of your cookware becomes loose, stop using immediately and tighten the screw or other fixation device. Using cookware with a loose handle can result in a burn injury. If you are unable to tighten the handle, contact customer service.
  • Lids and handles are constructed to minimize heat transfer, though bothmay become hot during cooking. Use caution when removing lids or grabbing the handles. Oven mitts or kitchen towels are recommended.
  • Do not plunge a hot lid into water, as the thermal shock can cause the lid to shatter.
  • Do not use in a microwave.

How to use your GreenLife™ cookware

Before First Use:

  • Remove all packaging materials and labels.
  • Wash in warm soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Recommendations for best cooking and frying results
  • Do not preheat on a high setting and do not allow the pan to boil dry.
  • Cook on a burner that is approximately similar in base diameter to that of the pan you have selected.
  • When cooking on gas, adjust the flame so it does not flare up the sides of the pan.
  • Remove food from the refrigerator 10 minutes before you intend to cook or fry.
  • If food sticks to the cookware during cooking, add a small amount of water to the part of the pan that the food is stuck to. Adding moisture will create a burst of steam that should lift any food stuck to the pan.
  • When cooking on induction (only if your cookware is suitable for induction) or gas, the cookware heats up very quickly: therefore be especially careful not to use high heat.
Cooking with oils and fats
  • We recommend to use oil or butter. Remember, some oils and fats burn at lower temperatures. Use oils and fats that have a high smoke point, like refined olive oil, peanut oil, corn oil and (clarified) butter. Do not use extra virgin olive oil as it cannot withstand high heating and will leave a thin carbonized layer on your non-stick.
  • Do not use oil sprays. These sprays cause residue build-up that is difficult to remove from all types of cookware.
  • When applying oil, always give the oil a nice even rub onto the surface of the pan.

Care and Cleaning

  • Allow the pan to cool and then clean it thoroughly after each use.
  • Always start with a clean pan. Wash carefully with a soft cloth or sponge and be sure that you have removed all traces of cooking oil and food before you store your pan.
  • Your Green Life™ product can be cleaned in If the exterior of your pans are made from hard-anodized or bare aluminum, they are b NOT suitable for dishwasher use.
  • Halogen and ceramic stovetops – Take care to ensure that your stovetop and you Green Life™ product is kept free from debris so as not to scratch the ceramic stovetop’s surface.

Cookware with Thermolon™ non-stick technology:

How to maintain the non-stick layer

  • Heat settings are very important. Lower heat settings are not only good for energy-saving but also avoids the pan becoming too hot. The nature of ceramics is to distribute the heat more effectively, helping some protein-rich foods cook more quickly.

  • Do not drop the pan on the floor, and take care not to warp or bend the pan as this may deform the ceramic non-stick coating, resulting in loss of non-stick properties.

  • Note: After a while it is normal that non-stick properties will reduce. This process can be accelerated by prolonged exposure of the non-stick surface to high heat during cooking owing to carbonization of food and oil. The patented Thermolon™ non-stick technology can withstand accidental over-heating up to 450°C/850°F for short periods, which is a safety feature.
When the non-stick starts to fade, the thick high density ceramic undercoat allows the pan to be used just like cast iron enameled pans.

  • Because of the excellent heat conductivity of your pan and the Thermolon™ layer, food and oil carbonize very rapidly. So always cook on low to medium heat and only use high heat for searing or browning.

  • Never use metal utensils on any non-stick surface. Plastic, rubber or wooden utensils are recommended to prolong the life of the pan.

  • Do not cut food whilst it is in the pan.

  • In the case of dishwasher use, the non-stick properties of ceramic non-stick coatings can be broken down by the hardness of the water and aggressive alkaline detergents that are commonly used in a dishwasher.

  • Do NOT use steel wool or nylon scrubbing pads. For best results, clean with a soft cloth or sponge.

  • Do NOT use oven cleaner or any cleaner that is abrasive or which contains chlorine bleach. Do not gouge the non-stick-coating.

  • If brown deposits form on your non-stick coating this is likely to have resulted from prolonged exposure of the non-stick surface to high heat during cooking with fats and oils which can break down. This can create carbonized oil and fat films. These factors will accelerate the loss of non-stick performance. If this happens then empty any loose food, partly fill the pan with warm water and let it come to a quick boil. Then turn off the stove and leave it to cool. After cooling the burnt food should be easily wiped away.

  • For tougher burns, soak the pan in soapy water for a few hours followed by patient rubbing with a soft cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaners, harsh scouring pads or steel wool as this will damage the non-stick.

  • Slight surface marks and discolorations are normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are green pans dishwasher-safe?

With a soft sponge and some warm, soapy water, cleaning our pans is a breeze. Also, they are dishwasher safe. Avoid using steel wool, iron sponges, or abrasive detergents. Inducing thermal shock by submerging a hot pan in cold water can warp pans and break glass lids.

How should a green life frying pan be cleaned?

After each usage, let the pan cool and then give it a thorough cleaning. Hand- wash your pan in warm, soapy water, rinse, and then pat dry with a soft towel to protect it. Avoid using (green) nylon scrubbing pads or steel wool. Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean for the finest outcomes.

Should green pans be seasoned?

Not necessary to season your pan, p.s. It may sound foolish to say, but it’s crucial to keep in mind that you shouldn’t leave an empty pan on a hot burner. Please refrain from using metal tools or cutting food in your pan to ensure a long and healthy life for your pan.

How can you tell if a pan is safe for the dishwasher?

While most dishes have labels on the bottom side, the handles of most pots and pans are engraved. Aluminum cannot be washed in a dishwasher, only stainless steel. Hire a metallurgist if you can’t find the label or are unsure of the material’s composition.

What takes place if a pan is placed in the dishwasher?

While cleaning by hand gives you better control over the water temperature, using a dishwasher could cause the metal to rust. Wash your stainless steel pots and pans by hand if you want to be extra cautious, especially if they are seriously soiled.

How should an electric skillet be cleaned after use?

Run hot water over the skillet, then scrapes away any food residue and leftover fat with a sponge and dish soap until the frying pan is clean. After rinsing the soap away with hot, running water, spin the skillet gently while using the sponge to wash the pan’s sides and exterior.

What cooking oils work best with GreenLife cookware?

At this temperature, the fat begins to carbonize. It is best to use fats with high smoke points, such as refined olive oil, peanut oil, corn oil, and (clarified) butter, as frypan temperatures have a tendency to rise quickly. Extra virgin olive should not be used because it quickly carbonizes.

Can I use a gas stove?

Yes! After six weeks of daily use on gas burners, the bottoms have some minor wear, but the sides, cooking surfaces, and handles are flawless.

Are these OK for use with electric stoves?

My electric stove is where I use mine.

Can I clean this with the Pink Stuff?

With a soft sponge and soapy water, you can simply clean this. No scrubbing is required! Nothing else would I apply to them. As soon as they have cooled, I wash, dry, and hang them back on my pot rack.
