IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Basic safety precautions should always be followed when using electrical appliances, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. Do not touch the area where a hot cooking vessel has just been standing. Directly after cooking, this area can be very hot.
  3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or electrical burner in water or other liquids.
  4. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
  5. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the unit to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  7. Do not use outdoors.
  8. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
  9. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heater oven.
  10. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  11. Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  12. Do not use the appliance for other intended use.
  13. Use only cookware that is suitable for electric ranges. Make sure the cookware has a flat base/cooking surface.
  14. Place a clear-resistant pad or mat under the unit before using it to prevent possible heat damage to the counter or tabletop.
  15. Any maintenance other than cleaning should be performed only by an authorized service repair station.
  16. Clean the appliance regularly as a build-up of grease poses a fire hazard.
  17. Never cook food directly on the burners. Always use proper cookware.
  18. Do not attempt to cut food in cookware while on the heated burners.
  19. Do not leave cookware on hot burners unattended. Close supervision is necessary when using the product.
  20. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, causing a risk of electrical shock.
  21. When in use, keep the unit a minimum of 10-12 inches away from walls, Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface and in a well-ventilated area. Place the appliance on a dry and horizontal surface.
  22. For long-life performance, avoid dropping anything on the burners.
  23. Always pull the plug out from the wall outlet. Never pull the cord.
  24. Electric Power. If the electric circuit is overloaded with other appliances, this appliance may not operate properly. The appliance should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other operating appliances.
  25. Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons, and lids should not be placed on the hotplate since they can get hot
  26. After use, always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket
  27. Just switching off the appliance is not sufficient, as the appliance is subject to mains voltage for as long as the plug is connected to the mains power socket
  28. If the surface of the hob is cracked, disconnect the plug from the mains power socket to avoid receiving an electric shock.
  29. This appliance may be used by children aged eight years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are being supervised or have been instructed with regard to the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks
  30. The appliance must not be used as a plaything by children.
  31. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than eight and are supervised.
  32. Children younger than eight years of age must be kept away from the appliance and the power cable.
  33. Do not heat sealed cans or other sealed containers.
  34. Caution! Hot surface! This symbol warns you not to touch the hob directly after use. Risk of burns!
  35. Overheated foodstuffs can start burning! Never leave the appliance unsupervised while it is in use.
  36. Additionally, never position the appliance below flammable objects, especially not below curtains.
  37. Never heat a securely closed container. Heat expansion can quickly cause an expansion.
  38. Never heat an empty container. This would overheat very quickly, leading to a risk of fire and serious damage to the hob.
  39. Do not place metallic objects on the hob, such as kitchen utensils or cutlery. They can become very hot in the induction field.
  40. Be careful when heating small amounts of oil: do not use a high setting or temperature level. Otherwise, the oil can burn and catch fire!
  41. Never operate the appliance on a metal table or other surface. This may heat up and cause a fire. Or the appliance could become irreparably damaged.
  42. Do not operate the appliance using an external time switch or a separate remote control system.
  43. Maintain a minimum distance of 1 m from appliances that are sensitive to electromagnetic fields (e.g. screens, clocks, magnetic storage media, electronic devices, etc.).
  44. Medical devices, such as heart pacemakers, hearing aids, and other appliances, may need to be kept at a great distance. If in doubt, consult the manufacturer of the medical device!
  45. Do not use this appliance on a table with a metal surface.

THIS PRODUCT IS FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY!

  1. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks of injuring yourself from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
  2. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if you exercise caution during use.
  3. If a longer cord is used please note the following:
The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop of the tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Specification

  • Product Name: Induction cooker
  • Model No.: WE-18K66-US
  • Rated Voltage: 120V
  • Rated Frequency: 60Hz
  • Rated Power: Max 1800W

Function

  • Whilst standard hotplates heat up themselves, in an induction hotplate the heat is created in the base of the cookware. The hob itself does not heat up, it becomes hot when food is heated upon it in a pan the heat from the pan reflects onto the hobs(Reverse heating )
  • This is caused by an energy field that generates heat only in magnetically conductive materials, for example, pans made of iron, In other materials, such as porcelain, glass, or ceramic, the energy field cannot generate any heating effect.

Suitable cookware

Only use cookware that is suitable for induction hobs:

  • Suitable cookware consists of pots and pans with a base made of steel or cast iron, You can identify these either by means of the markings on the pan or by ascertaining whether a magnet clings to the base of the pan.

  • Unsuitable cookware is made from any kind of metal that is non-magnetic, such as aluminum, copper, and stainless steel, as well as non-metal vessels made of porcelain, glass, ceramic, plastics, etc.
If unsuitable cookware is placed on the hobs,“E0” appears in the relevant display

  • Thin pan bases are better suited to induction cooking than thick sandwich bases, The very short response times to setting modifications(short preheating period, rapid and controllable browning )are not possible when pans with thick bases are used.

    • Only use cookware that is suitable for the size of the hobs, This is the only way to ensure that the induction hob functions perfectly, The base of the pan may not be uneven, rather, it must sit flat.
    • The diameter may not be less than 12cm to ensure that the energy field has an effect, Do not use pans with a diameter in excess of 26cm.

Operation

The hob is provided with 9 power levels:

Power levels in watts 200 400 600 800 1000 1200 1400 1600 1800
