Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Polk Monitor XT™ Loudspeakers. This new line is bold, stylish and quality built for performance. These high-efficiency speakers feature Polk’s patented Dynamic Balance® tuned drivers and tweeters for clearer highs and a more realistic mid-range. The Polk Monitor XT speakers were designed to sound great and also look great; with the subtle accents, this product can live in any decor. Pure and simple, the Polk Monitor XT speakers are the true definition of “Expect Great Sound”.
Polk Monitor XT30 Center Channel Loudspeaker delivers high-resolution audio quality and crystal-clear dialogue for your movies, games, and music. No matter where you are seated in the room, the MXT30’s dynamically balanced acoustic array with a 1″ High-Resolution Terylene Tweeter and two 5.25″ Polypropylene Woofer brings your movies to life with room-filling, extremely detailed sound. Even the newest Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound AVRs and amplifiers will reproduce sounds accurately because it is Hi-Res Audio Certified. With the Monitor XT Series, you can mix and combine models to create the ideal home theatre or music listening space thanks to the high- quality, timbre-matched Polk components used in its construction. MXT90 height channel, MXT90 bookshelf channel, MXT60 tower pair, and MXT12 sub for a full 5.1 surround system.
Certified High-Resolution Audio Performance
The Terylene dome tweeter in the Monitor XT30 permits playback at frequencies up to 40 kHz, which ensures an airy, clear, high-end energy, and spaciousness that you’ll be able to both hear and feel. The audio in ultra-HD movies, multichannel concert videos, and spatial audio mixed for Apple Music, Dolby Atmos, or DTS:X sound amazing thanks to this device’s high-resolution performance.
Interestingly Easy Bass
Polk has always been known for producing speakers with remarkable bass for their size. Not an exception is the MXT30. Low distortion, clean, open mid- range, punchy, responsive bass, and dual 5.25″ high-efficiency, dynamically balanced woofers deliver impact to games, movies, and concerts while maintaining vocal clarity.
For Pure Listening Only
The enjoyment of pure sound is the goal of every Monitor XT model: Their MDF cabinets are low-resonance, critically braced to separate the sound of the woofers and tweeter without introducing unwanted resonances, and their detachable, precisely-fit grilles reduce audible interference. Their nickel- plated binding posts offer a direct, lossless connection.
How to Connect Your System
To get the best sound quality, it’s important to wire your speakers correctly.
How to Use Binding Post Connectors
Loosen hex nut and insert bare speaker wire through the hole. Tighten the hex
nut down to make the connection.
Note : Do not insert an insulated section of wire into hole (you will not get a connection).
Basic Speaker Hookup
Make sure that the red (+) and black (-) connectors on your amplifier or
receiver connect to the red (+) and black (-) connectors on your speakers. If
your speakers sound “thin,” with little bass and little or no center image,
odds are that one of the speaker wires is connected backward. Double check all
connections.
Speaker Positioning
To maximize the sound quality of your speaker system— whether you’ve purchased XT15 bookshelf speakers, an XT30 center channel speaker, or XT70 tower speakers—correct placement is everything. Take a look at the following examples and give them a try based on the Polk Monitor XT Series speakers you’ve purchased.
Frequently Asked Questions
what is the best way to mount this if needed?
It weighs quite a bit and will need some type of mount attached the speaker itself. Or mount it via a shelf.
How many watts can this handle? This information is probably most important yet hard to find.
Up to 200 watts per channel. Right from Polk Audio’s website.
The description says 4 or 8-ohm impedance. Many answers given say 8 ohms. I have a 4-ohm system, will this work?
Website says capable of 4 to 8 ohm.
What happens to sound if rear port is blocked as in if I place the speaker on a narrow shelf up against a wall?
If the port are blocked you won’t get the bass that you want the best way to do it gives it space. Just moved it out by half a foot
How tall is it?
6 inches tall 18 & half wide.
Does it come with a grill?
Hello and thank you for your question and interest in our product. The XT30 comes with a black cloth grill.
Does it have a cd player? can a cd player be attached?
the xt30 is not a powered device, meaning the sound coming from another device such as a DVD or cd player the sound has to be amplified. some cd players are but I would guess most are not. I have a DVD player connected to a receiver that the output from it goes to the xt30, without the receiver the xt30 would not make any sound.
Can this replace my Polk mini?
Hello, if referring to the Polk Audio MagniFi Mini Soundbar, then no. The XT30 is a passive center channel designed to be connected to a surround sound receiver.
Do I need anything else to hook up to my Samsung tv? It has Dolby audio. These speakers are wireless?
This XT30 speaker requires a power amplifier or receiver to power it and send the audio signal. A surround sound receiver would probably be the best solution to add this speaker to your TV. Otherwise, if you are looking for an easy speaker to add to a TV, you should look for an active soundbar like the Polk React, Signa S2, or MagniFi Max.
What about Polk Monitor speakers?
The quality of these “bookshelf” speakers is amazing. Without a subwoofer, the woofers can produce pretty good bass on their own. These speakers definitely impress with their bass production, even though a subwoofer helps extend the bass lower. Other bookshelf speakers frequently only have a single woofer integrated.
