FITTING A CAMPINGAZ® CV 470 PLUS/ CV 300 PLUS CARTRIDGE

(If the existing cartridge is empty, read section § F, “Removing the cartridge”).
To fit or remove a cartridge, always work in a well ventilated area, preferably outdoors, away from other people and inflammable material, never near a naked flame, heat or spark source (cigarettes, electrical equipment, etc).

AS CAMPINGAZ® CV 470 PLUS / CV 300 PLUS CARTRIDGES ARE VALVE-OPERATED, THEY CAN BE DETACHED FROM THE EQUIPMENT, EASILY TRANSPORTED (EVEN WHEN NOT EMPTY) AND FITTED TO OTHER CAMPINGAZ® EQUIPMENT IN THE CV 470 PLUS / CV 300 PLUS RANGE DESIGNED TO OPERATE EXCLUSIVELY WITH THESE CARTRIDGES.

  1. (Fig. 4-A) Turn the control knob clockwise to the off position (O) until it stops.
  2. Flip the appliance upside down.
  3. (Fig. 4-B) Gently screw in the gas cartridge by turning it clockwise until you hear a click (approximately one-sixth of a turn). Do not force the cartridge to turn further than this; you will risk damaging the cartridge valve.
    Fitting Instruction

In the event of leakage (smell of gas prior to turning the tap on), take the appliance outside immediately, in a well-ventilated area with no combustion source, where the leak can be located and halted. If you wish to check for leaks on your appliance, do it outside. Do not try to detect leaks using a flame, use soapy water.

PREPARATION FOR USE

  1. (Fig. 5-A) Fill the reservoir with water to the “MAXI” level (marked on wall of reservoir).
  2. (Fig. 5-B) Place in the pan support (3), with its three feet resting on the supports on the wall of the reservoir.
  3. (Fig. 5-B) Place the cooking plate (2) over the pan support, with its edge resting on the notches of the pan support feet.
    Using instruction

Do not use your appliance at a distance of less than 20 cm from a wall or a combustible object.
Position the appliance on a stable, horizontal surface and do not move when in use to avoid the appearance of large flames resulting from the combustion of liquid butane rather than vaporised butane. Should this occur, turn off the control knob, and re-position the appliance.
Before lighting the appliance, make sure to fill the reservoir with water to “MAXI” level, regardless whether the appliance is to be used as a stove or a grill.
Never leave the cooking plate on fire without foodstuffs longer than one minute (except for the initial pre-heating period) otherwise the special coating will be damaged.
Wait until the device has completely cooled down before preparing it for storage.
Caution: some parts may be very hot. Keep young children away from the appliance.

COOKING

Using the appliance as a grill

  1. Make sure that reservoir is filled with water to the “MAXI” level and the pan support & cooking plate is installed as described in section § D.
  2. Pre-heat the cooking plate for one minute at maximum in order to reach the ideal temperature for cooking.

The cooking plate is covered with a high quality non-sticking material which ensures healthy cuisine without adding fat or oil.
Fatty substances are collected in the water reservoir, your meal is perfectly healthy (no residual or carbonised fats), your ingredients retain all their savor.
The cooking plate attains maximum temperature after about one minute of pre- heating (the ideal temperature for barbecuing).
Place your ingredients on the plate and adjust the temperature with the control knob according to your tastes. It is also possible to adjust the speed of cooking according to where the ingredients are placed on the cooking plate: maximum in the center, less intense towards the edge.
A bluish discoloration of the cooking plate is due to the strong heat development. This is without any impact on the quality of the used material.

Using the appliance as a stove

IMPORTANT: Cooking plate must be taken away when using the appliance as a stove. Never place cooking vessels on the cooking plate.
Place a cooking vessel (pan, wok etc.) on the pan support, centered over the burner. Ensure that the flame does not exceed the underside of the cooking vessel.

SHUTTING DOWN

Turn the control knob clockwise to the off position (O) until it stops.
