The WAL-C-4XM is a mounted mini light tower and provides 400,000 lumens of
light output. This portable light tower has a removable
four light head assembly mounted on top of a four leg steel TOWER equipped
with 8 inch wheels for easy positioning of the unit from one area of the
workspace to another. The light assembly on this unit produces a wide flood
pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating large workspaces and job
sites. This light is designed for heavy duty use in demanding conditions
including emergency services, mining, construction, marine, and industrial
operations where durability and portability is important.
This portable light tower is comprised of a removable light assembly fitted
with four metal halide lamps mounted atop a four leg tripod fabricated from
heavy duty steel. This adjustable and collapsible tower can be extended to
fourteen feet and collapsed to seven feet and
is locked into position with t-handle locking pins. The unit is extended and
lowered using an included hand crank cable winch equipped with a brake for
fast and safe deployment. Included solid wheels allow the operator to tilt the
unit back and simply roll the entire assembly to a new location when fully
deployed. The light fixture assembly can be removed by releasing the hand knob
and sliding the light and mounting bracket off of the center support while the
legs can be collapsed, aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The lamps
can be easily adjusted up, down or from side to side independently of each
other and locked into position for maximum coverage of the work area.
MAST HEAD INSTALLATION
- Locate light head. Color, style, and mounted lights will vary.
- The light head is equipped with a T-Handle / Hand Screw.
- Make sure the hand screw is loose, to allow the head to slide over the top stage of the mast.
- Using a pair of slings, wrap both slings around the light head in between the lights on both sides.
- Attach the slings to a forklift or other lifting device.
- With 2 people holding the light head steady, slowly raise the light head above the mast.
- A ladder will need to be placed on both sides of the mast, in order for 2 people to guide the head in to place.
- Once the light head is on top of the light mast, tighten the T-Handle to ensure the light head is safely secured to the top of the mast.
- Slings are recommended for installing heavy loads and to ensure operator safety. Should other methods be used, Larson Electronics shall not be held responsible for damages or personal injuries.
LIGHT MAST OPERATION
- Position light mast in the desired location. Ensure that the unit is completely level and ensure the mast is free and clear from any overhead obstructions. Deploy legs to stabilize mast.
- (If applicable) Attach equipment to mast head. Use appropriate measures for securing attached devices. Drill thru-holes as necessary. Do not exceed weight capacity listed on nameplate!
- Install mast head. See mast head installation steps.
- Use the hand winch for extending the mast. Turn this clockwise until it stops. You should hear a clicking noise from the hand winch indicating the proper direction. Do not force the winch any further past its stopping point!
- To lower the mast, rotate the upper winch counter-clockwise. The winch will not click at this point and you should visually see the mast lowering. Stop once there is no more tension on the cable. Do not allow excessive slack on winch cable.
- Mate the cord cap with a compatible receptacle outputting the correct voltage to power lights.
Check product label to verify correct input voltage!
• WARNING: Power cables can become pinched or tangled around light mast while lowering or rotating. Take caution in keeping cables clear.
Replacing the Bulb
- To replace the bulb, loosen the screw to remove the outer ring holding the lens.
- Carefully remove the outer ring, glass lens and rubber seal.
- Remove the old bulb from the unit.
- Replace with 1000 watt BT56 lamp. See part# WAL-SB-1000W-MH to purchase replacement bulb.
- Replace the seal, glass lens and outer ring. Hand tight the outer ring until snug. Do not over tighten.
