Installation Instructions
- Required only if using conduit clamp fitting other than what is provided with the product:
- Loosen, but do not remove screws on the cover plate; slide the plate to a large keyhole position and lift the plate from the assembly.
- Remove cable/conduit clamp fitting from cover plate; Install UL-listed metallic enclosure entry fitting for plenum cable or flex whip.
- Feed supply cable through the whip to speaker wires. Make connections per wiring diagram; Use appropriate connectors to meet any required codes.
- Replace the cover plate and tighten the cover plate screws. When the cover plate is secured, all connections/splices must be inside of the enclosure.
- Make the necessary field wiring connections.
- Place assembly onto ceiling grid, and install 24 T-bar trim pieces where required (not supplied).
- Tie-off Tab 4X:
- Recommended fasteners (not supplied): Erico/Caddy part ATA4i and 14-20 x 2 bolt, or equivalent. Attach to the T-bar as directed with a threaded hole over the edge of the speaker assembly. Thread bolt through the hole until snug against the back of the speaker assembly.
- Place remaining ceiling tile into grid opening as required:
- Connect the positive (red) wire from the SYSTEM 15/8 to the positive lead from the field wiring.
- Connect the negative (black) wire from the SYSTEM 15/8 to the negative lead from the field wiring.
- All connections/splices must be inside of the enclosure.
- Tighten the screws on the cable clamp.
IMPORTANT
- Verify all code requirements with local AHJ before selecting the connection method.
- Using code-compliant connectors for all field wiring.
IMPORTANT
- AHJ/ local codes may require tie-o to structure. Bend up tie-o tabs as shown above and install as directed.
- AHJ/ local codes may require a tie-down to the grid.
- Recommended fasteners (not supplied): Erico/Caddy part ATA4i and 1 ∕4″- 20 x 2″ bolt, or equivalent. Attach to the T-bar as directed with a threaded hole over the edge of the speaker assembly.
- Thread bolt through hole until snug against the back of speaker assembly.
