Included in this Product Package
| A. ePTZ Camera Bracket (x1)
---|---
| B. Ceiling Mounting Plate (x1)
| C. Microphone Bracket (x1)
| D. 1 ½” Cable Grommet (x1)
| E. ¼” Screw (x1)
| F. ¼” Rubber Washer (x3)
| G. ¼” Wing Nut (x1)
| H. #6-32 Screw (x2)

| L. #6-32 Nut (x2)
| M. #6 Lock Washer (x2)
Step 1: Attach Microphone to Bracket
Remove two (2) Phillips-head screws from bottom of array microphone to
remove manufacturer desk stand.
Using same screws, attach microphone to angled flanges of microphone bracket
(C), with front of microphone angled away from base of bracket.
Step 2: Attach Microphone Assembly to Ceiling Mounting Plate
Step 2.1: For Fixed Orientation
Using the provided two (2) #6-32 screws (H), lock washers (M), and
6-32 nuts (L), attach the microphone bracket (C) to the outermost two
of the three (3) holes at the front of the ceiling mounting plate (B), with the front of the array microphone facing away from the cable passthrough holes. A ¼” rubber washer (F) will not be used in this configuration.
Step 2.2: For Adjustable Orientation
Using one (1) each of the provided #6-32 screw (H), #6-32 nut (L),
lock washer (M), and ¼” rubber washer (F), attach the microphone
bracket (C) to the middle of the three (3) holes at the front of the
ceiling mounting plate (B), with the front of the array microphone facing
away from the cable passthrough holes.
The second #6-32 screw (H), #6-32 nut (L), and lock washer (M)
will not be used in this configuration.
Once assembly is mounted in ceiling (see Step 9 (Optional): Reorient
Microphone and Camera), rotate microphone assembly to face directly towards
presenter.
Step 3: Attach Camera Bracket to Ceiling Mounting Plate
Using one (1) ¼” screw (E), ¼” rubber washer (F), and wing nut
(G), attach the shorter, 90° end of the camera mounting bracket assembly
(A) to the ceiling mounting plate (B). Orient so that the wing nuts
face away from the array microphone, and the top and bottom flanges point
towards the array microphone.
Once assembly is mounted in ceiling (see Step 9 (Optional): Reorient
Microphone and Camera), rotate camera assembly to face towards the center of
area where presenter will stand for full video coverage.
Step 4: Attach Camera to Mounting Bracket
Using one (1) screw (X, provided in camera box) and ¼” rubber washer (F), attach top of camera to angled surface of mounting bracket (A), with front of camera angled away from mounting plate, facing same direction as the front of the array microphone.
Step 5: Insert Cable Grommets
Remove knockout from directly behind camera mounting bracket. Push 15/16” cable grommet (J) into hole left by knockout, making sure that grommet is seated properly. Repeat process with larger 1 ½” cable grommet (D) in central hole between camera and microphone brackets.
Step 6: Identify Mounting Location
Ceiling plate should be mounted in drop ceiling grid as near to center of room as possible, ~16 feet from instructor. Ensure that selected mounting location is not directly adjacent to— or in the way of—air conditioning vents, ceiling speakers, or video projectors. Once location is selected, remove ceiling tile.
Step 7: Cut Ceiling Tile to Size
If using standard 2’x2’ acoustic tile, cut down to a width of 10 ½” (overall size 24”x10 ½”). Save remaining portion of ceiling tile for subsequent installations.
Step 8: Mount Ceiling Plate Assembly in Ceiling
Being careful to avoid damaging mounted equipment, lift assembly into place in drop ceiling, ensuring that camera and microphone are oriented towards presenter. Secure assembly to ceiling structure (NOT to drop ceiling grid) by looping provided suspension cables (K) through mounting tabs and securing. Place cut ceiling tile to fill remaining space in 2’x2’ grid square.
For more information on using suspension cables, scan the QR code to download the TEKVOX Ceiling Box Installation Guide.
Step 9 (Optional): Reorient Microphone and Camera
Rotate camera mounting bracket so that the ePTZ camera points towards the center of the area in which the presenter will appear. If microphone is mounted according to Step 2.2: For Adjustable Orientation, do the same with microphone bracket (Note: Microphone bracket cannot be rotated if installed according to Step 2.1: For Fixed Orientation)
Step 10 (Optional): Adjust Camera Height
If ePTZ camera is too high when plate is mounted in ceiling, loosen wing nuts
securing two halves of bracket (A) together, then extend mounting bracket
until camera is at desired mounting height.
Ensure that wing nuts are fully tightened after adjusting camera height.
Step 11: Connect and Dress Cables
For specific cable connection information, consult system installation guide.
All cables connected to ePTZ camera should pass through small cable grommet
directly behind camera mounting bracket (A), and be dressed neatly along
vertical spine of camera mounting bracket. Use provided cable-tie slots to
secure cables.
All cables connected to array microphone should pass through large cable
grommet directly behind microphone mounting bracket.
Once all cables are connected, use provided white cable wrap (I) to conceal
cable run to ePTZ camera as much as possible.
Step 11.1: Connecting Microphone Output to Camera (if applicable)
When routing the array microphone output to the audio input ofthe ePTZ camera
(see system schematic & installation guide for detailed instructions), connect
the output of the array microphone to the input of the provided ground loop
isolator, and the output of the isolator to the audio input of the ePTZ
camera.
Use provided hook-and-loop wrap to secure ground loop isolator to back
vertical face of camera mounting bracket.
