Before You Start
Tools needed (not included in shipped box): Cat Ethernet Cable,
Crosshead Screwdriver, Electric Drill
Voltage and Current Specifications
It is suggested to use PoE or a 12VDC 1A power adapter to power
on the device.
AWG Sizes and Properties Table
Follow the provided wire data to install the device based on the
Power Supply and AWG specifications mentioned in the table.
Requirements
Install the device away from direct sunlight, direct sun through
windows, indirect sunlight through windows, and close to light
sources like lamps.
Warnings and Cautions
Be cautious while handling the device to prevent accidents.
Avoid touching power components with wet hands and follow safety
guidelines provided in the manual.
Wiring Interface
To protect the device from over-voltage damage, wire a diode
into the circuit as instructed in the manual.
Installation Instructions
Step 1: Wall-mounting or Flush-mounting Box Installation

Cut a square hole on the wall according to the specified
dimensions. -
Align and mark the wall-mounting box holes on the wall.

Drill holes and insert plastic wall anchors.

Tighten screws to fasten the wall-mounting box.

Requirements
1.Place the device away from sunlight and light sources to prevent potential
damage. 2.Do not place the device in the high-temperature, and humid
environments or in surroundings impacted by magnetic field. 3.Install the
device on the flat surface securely to avoid personal injuries and property
loss caused by device’s falling. 4.Do not use or place the device near heating
objects. 5.If installing the device indoors, please keep device at least 2
meters away from light, and at least 3 meters away from
window and door.

Warning!
1.To ensure safety, avoid touching power core, power adapter, and device with
wet hands, bending or pulling the power core, damaging any components, and use
only qualified power adapter and power cord.
2.Be careful that standing up on the area under the device in case of personal
injuries cause by hitting the device.
Cautious
1.Do not knock device with hard objects. 2.Do not press down hard on the
device screen. 3.Do not expose device to chemical products, such as alcohol,
acid liquid, disinfectants, and so on. 4.To prevent the device installation
from becoming loose, ensure accurate diameters and depths of screw holes. If
the
screw holes are too large, use glue to secure the screws. 5.Use wet cloth
clean device surface softly, and then wipe the surface with dry cloth for
cleaning the device. 6.If there is abnormal situation of the device, including
uncommon sound and smell, please power off the device and contact Akuvox
Technical Team immediately.
Wiring Interface
To protect the device from potential damage caused by over-voltage, it is
recommended to wire a diode into the circuit. Connect the anode of the diode
to the negative cable of the lock, and connect the cathode of the diode to the
positive cable of the lock.

Step1: Wall-mounting or Flush-mounting Box Installation 1. Wall-mounting Box
Installation

Cut a square hole on the wall according to the wire position with the dimension 502923mm (heightwidthdepth).
B
a. Align the square hole of the wall-mounting box with the square hole on the
wall, ensuring the box is closely against the wall.
b. Mark the box’s four holes on the wall, ensuring the mark is at the center
of each hole.

a. Take down the wall-mounting box. b. Use a 6 mm electric drill to drill the
four holes.

Insert four plastic wall anchors into the screw holes.

Tighten the four ST4x20 crosshead screws to the plastic wall anchors to fasten
the wall-mounting box to the wall.

Wall-mounting installation is completed.
Note: Ensure the drilled holes are aligned with the box’s holes and wall-
mounting box is parallel to the ground.
2. Flush-mounting Box Installation

Cut a square hole on the wall according to the wire position with the dimension 1354238mm (heightwidthdepth).

a. Put the flush-mounting box into the hole, ensuring the flaps of box’s side
are attached to the wall, and leave a gap at the bottom for drainage.
b. Mark the box’s four holes on the wall, ensuring the mark is at the center
of each hole.
C
a. Take down the flush-mounting box. b. Use a 6 mm electric drill to drill the
four holes.
D
Insert four plastic wall anchors into the screw holes.
E
a. Remove the box’s wiring holes, making the wires go through the box through
the holes.
b. Push the flush-mounting box into the hole. c. Tighten the four ST4x20
crosshead screws to the plastic wall anchors to
fasten the flush-mounting box to the wall.

The installation is completed after checking the flaps of the box are attached
to the wall and higher than the wall. And ensure there is a gap at the bottom
for drainage.
Step2: Main Unit Installation
A
Take out A08, wiring cover, A and B rubber plugs, and four M2.5×5 crosshead
screws.
B
a. Lead out the wires out of the flush-mounting/ wall-mounting box. b. Connect
one end of the Ethernet Cable to the device’s network interface,
and the other to the Ethernet connector.
C
a. Choose one or two 8-pin cable, connecting wires to 8-pin cable as needed
and inserting 8-pin cable into main unit.
b. Make wires go through two rubber plugs.
c. Insert a rubber plug into the groove on the device’s back cover, ensuring
the side with tilt surface faces inward.
d. Fix cable(s) with rubber plugs and press the wiring cover.
Note:
Use two A plugs if only have one Ethernet cable. Use an A plug and a B plug if have an Ethernet cable and a set of eight wires. Use two B plugs if have an Ethernet cable and two sets of eight wires.

Fasten the wiring cover with four M2.5×5 crosshead screws.
Step3: Device Mounting
A
a. Put all wires and Ethernet connector into the drilled square hole in the
wall. b. Hang the slot of the main unit into the corresponding hooks of the
box, and
then gently lower the main unit into the box.
B
Lower the device down, ensuring the box’s two hookers fit into the grooves at
the bottom of the device.
C
Fix two M3x6 Torx head screws into holes.

The installation is completed after checking gap around the device is even,
the connection is secure, and the device can be powered on.

Device Test
Please verify the device status after installation: 1. Network: Press Reset
button on the back of device shortly, the device will announce IP address.
Network is working
properly if the IP address is obtained. 2. Access ControlUse pre-configured
PIN code and RF card to unlock door.
Warranty

destruction caused by improper installation. 2. Do not attempt to modify,
alternate, maintain, or repair device by yourself. Akuvox warranty does not
apply to damages
caused by anyone who is not representative of Akuvox or an Akuvox authorized

be repaired.
