Safety

  • VELUX solar blinds FSLC/FSLD/FSLH/FSLJ/FSLF/FSCC/FSCD/ FSCH/FSCF can be used by persons (aged 8 years and above) with sufficient experience and knowledge if they have been given instruction concerning safe use and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by unsupervised children.
  • Children must not play with the blind.
  • Do not operate the blind if repair or adjustment is required.
  • Before operating, ensure that the blind can be operated without risk of damage to property or injury to people or animals.

  • Radio frequency range: 110 yd (100 m) free field. Depending on building construction, the indoor range is approx. 30 ft (10 m). However, constructions with reinforced concrete, metal ceilings, and plaster walls with steel members may reduce the range.

Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. These devices may not cause harmful interference, and

Function

  • The blind is operated by a control with three keys: OPEN/UP, STOP, and CLOSE/DOWN.
  • An automatic ”power on” function is triggered (one time only) in the first hours during which the product is exposed to sunshine – even if the product has been switched off during installation. The installation is considered completed when this function has been triggered.

Batteries and waste

  • Solar blind battery: Ni-MH 4.8 V.
  • Expected battery lifetime: control: approx. 1 year.
  • The packaging can be disposed of with usual household waste.

Maintenance and service

  • Maintenance and installation must be carried out in consideration of health and safety at work requirements.
  • There are no serviceable parts inside the blind.
  • The blind requires minimal maintenance. It can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Before any service work or disconnection of the solar blind, it must be powered off by pressing the button behind the end cap of the top cover twice (the motor makes a buzzing noise three times).
  • It can be turned on again by pressing the same button once and subsequently, within 30 seconds, pressing first the STOP key and then the UP or DOWN key on the control.
  • This will result in a new automatic adjustment of the blind to the skylight height.

INSTALLATION AND USING INSTRUCTION

Installation of the blind can be carried out in two ways:

  • A With most skylights, the top part and the sides of the blind are installed individually.
    • Note: If the skylight can be opened, this may ease the installation of the sides of the blind.
  • B For skylight FS in the listed sizes, the blind must be partially assembled before installation in the skylight.
