Product Usage Instructions

Setting Up the Camera

  1. Register and log in to the UBOX APP.
  2. Click “Add a device” and then “Set up WiFi device”.
  3. Turn on the camera and wait for the blue light to flash.
  4. Set a name and location for the camera in the app.
  5. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4G WiFi network and input the WiFi details in the app.
  6. Scan the QR code using the camera’s lens in the app to complete the connection.

Possible Problems During WiFi Connection

  • If the indicator light is not flashing blue, reset the camera by pressing the reset button for 3 seconds.
  • If the app shows WiFi not connected, ensure your phone is connected to the WiFi network.
  • If the camera has red light flashing and no connection, it indicates a failed connection.
  • If the app displays a black screen for the camera, it means no images are being received.

Mounting the Camera
The 3M tape on the holder may not be sufficient on rough walls or windows. Use screws included in the box to securely mount the camera.

Charging the Camera
Remove the camera from the holder when charging is needed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Can I use the camera without WiFi?
    Yes, you can use the camera without WiFi. Refer to page 3 of the FAQ for tips on using it without WiFi.

  • How long does the battery last on a full charge?
    The camera can work for up to 3 months on a full charge if only a few recordings are triggered.

  • What should I do if the camera’s indicator light is not flashing blue during setup?
    You should reset the camera by pressing the reset button for 3 seconds. Wait for it to enter the correct mode with a flashing blue light.

Some important things you might want to know before using the camera.

  • Keep the device in a strong WiFi area if you need realtime monitor or cloud storage.
  • If you want to use the camera without WiFi, please check the “Using without WiFi” tips in the FAQ (see page 3).
  • More triggered motion detection costs more power. After fully charged, the camera can work for 3 months if only a few recordings triggered.
  • Please turn on the notification of the UBOX APP in your phone’s setting if you want to receive alerts.
  • Using memory card: Please format the SD card for the first time use.
  • Camera will only check if a SD card is used when booting up.
  • Support micro SD cards up to 128GB.
  • This camera is designed for indoor home security.
  • No waterproof.
  • The ultraviolet light from daylight might cause the dark colors become purple in footage and live view.
  • Motion detection cannot work through a window.
  • After setup, you can zoom in on the live-view interface. For more details, please check FAQ.

Setup

Instruction video link in the last page. Please charge the camera before setting it up.

  1. After register and login, click the “Add a device”.
  2. Click “Set up WiFi device”.

  1. Turn on your camera. Wait for the blue light flashing. Click “Yes” to move on.
  2. Set a name and location for your new camera and go “Next”.

  1. Make sure your phone is connected with your 2.4G WiFi. Then, input the same WiFi name and password in the APP.
  2. Use the camera’s lens to scan the QR code in the APP. The APP will finish the connection in 10 seconds

Possible problems during WiFi connection

  1. If the camera’s indicator light is NOT flashing blue, please reset the camera. Press the reset button for 3 seconds. Please stop pressing once you see both the red light and the blue light on for a second. The camera will be set to the correct mode (blue light flashing) in a few seconds.

  2. If the APP shows “WiFi not connected”, it means phone is not connected with a WiFi. Please connect your phone with your 2.4G WiFi.

  3. After scanning the QR code in the APP, the camera has red light flashing and nothing happened in the APP. This means the connection failed.
    Possible reasons:

    • WiFi name and password incorrect.
    • WiFi is 5G only.
    • WiFi has both 2.4G & 5G. But feeding the 5G network as priority.
    • Router is too far away from the camera.
    • Router itself has no internet connection.
  4. Camera is already shown in the APP, but only has black screen. This means the APP can’t receive images from the camera.
    Possible reasons:

    • The APP has NO authority to use your phone’s mobile data to receive images. When you are not at home or office, your phone has no WiFi to access the camera. So, the APP need your phone’s mobile data.
    • Your phone is full of cache so the image can’t be loaded. Simply restart your phone will fix the problem.
    • Your router is full of cache so the image can’t be sent to the APP. Simply restart your router will fix the problem.

Hotspot connection
If you want to use the camera without WiFi, please check the “Using without WiFi” tips in the FAQ (see page 3).

Installation

  • The 3M tape on the back of the holder is not strong enough to keep the camera from failing on rough walls, wooden surface and windows.
  • If you already found a good spot for your camera, please use the screws in the box to mount your camera tightly.
  • You can take the camera out of the holder when it needs a charge.

  • You can see the live view of your camera, watch playback of the recorded motion detection videos and make important settings.

Some important settings

  • Motion detection : In “Activity detection” If turned on, camera will record when detecting any motion.
  • Motion detection schedule: In ” Detection schedule”. Setup a schedule to turn on motion detection.
  • Video length: In “Recording time”. Add extra video length for every motion detection video. Set to “Fulltime record” for continuous video recording mode.
  • Night vision: In “Scene mode”. “Normal” for automatic night vision. “Night vision mode” for manual control in the live view interface. (see Device interface)
