This appliance heats up to 70°C, whilst a fan circulates hot air around the food to remove its moisture.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

  1. Prepare the food that you intend to dry by slicing into thin and even shapes. Then place the food onto the trays. Keep approximately 0.5cm of space between each piece of food.
  2. Stack the dehydrating trays onto the main body of the appliance. Ensure that all the trays are fitted correctly to the main body of the appliance and the trays are evenly stacked.
  3. Put the upper lid on the appliance. During drying, the upper lid should always be on the appliance.
  4. Plug in and turn on the appliance by putting the switch to the ‘ON’ position – the indicator light will be red.

PRELIMINARY PREPARING OF THE MEAT, FISH, POULTRY AND GAME

  • It is recommended to pickle meat before dehydrating it to save its natural taste and make the meat softer. Ensure the meat is marinated for at least three hours – the longer you marinade the meat, the better the flavour will be.
  • It is necessary to add salt to pickle as it helps to remove the water from the meat and allows it to dehydrate more efficiently. Always use clean meats. Meats with higher fat content do not dry correctly.

STANDARD PICKLE:

  • 1/2 glass of soy sauce
  • 1 clove of garlic, cut into small pieces
  • 2 big spoons of ketchup
  • 1 and 1 /4 dessert spoon of salt
  • 1/2 dessert spoon of dried pepper
  • All ingredients should be mixed carefully.

POULTRY

  • Before starting the drying process, poultry should be prepared by either boiling or frying it.
  • Dry for about 2-8 hours or until all moisture is gone.

FISH

  • It is recommended to boil or bake it on a stove before beginning the drying process (bake it for about 20 minutes on 200 degrees or until the fish become easily broken).
  • Dry it for about 2-8 hours or until all moisture has gone.

MEAT AND GAME
Prepare by cutting it into small pieces and placing in the appliance for about 2-8 hours or until all moisture has gone.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before cleaning, check if the appliance is unplugged and has fully cooled down.
  • Do not use metal brushes, abrasive or rigid purifiers when cleaning the appliance – this could damage the surface.
