Assembly
Frame Assembly
Attach the 4 Castors with mounting plates, to the Base, using 16 of the M6 x
15mm dome head bolts and washers.
There are 2 lockable castors which should be fitted to the open end of the Base.
Attach the Side Frames to the Base using 8 of the M6 x 15mm dome head bolts and washers.
Attach the Frame Brace to the two Side Frames using 4 of the M8 x 70mm cap head bolts, flat washers and nuts.
Drum Assembly
Install 3 castors to the bottom of the collection drum, adding a thin nut to
each threaded shaft.
The thin nuts can be used to adjust the height of the castor.
Install the handle to the side of the drum using 2 of the M8 x 20mm bolts, with washers and nyloc nuts.
Ensure the Drum Cone is sitting in the bottom of the Drum.
Open the plastic Collection Bag, 800mm x 1075mm, and put it inside the drum with the top 50mm folded down outside the rim of the drum.
Attach the 2 Drum Lid Locking Levers to the Cyclone Funnel using 8 of the M5 x 8mm screws.
Place the Drum Lid on top of the Drum. Then fit the Flexible hose securing with a hose clamp.
Fit the second hose clamp over the flexible hose and then the Cyclone Funnel. Align the Locking levers so the threaded stud goes through the brackets on the Drum Lid.
Refit the 2 large hex nuts to the clamps.
Tighten the upper hose clamp.
Impellor Assembly
Requires 2 people: Lift the motor and impellor assembly up to the assembled frame. Align the fixing holes with the top of the Side Frame. Use 3 of the M8 x 16mm Screws and washers on each side.
Move the Drum and Cyclone Funnel into position underneath the Cyclone Body.
Undo the locking nut on the Steel Hoop to allow it to expand.
Lift the Cyclone Funnel up and place the Steel Hoop over the lip of both parts to secure them together.
Tighten the Steel Hoop locking nut.
Attach the 90 Degree Elbow to the Impellor Housing with a Rubber Gasket in
between the 2 parts.
Secure it with 8 of the M8 x 16mm bolts.
Mount the On/Off switch box onto 3 of the bolts just fitted. Secure with 3 of the M8 Nuts.
Filter Assembly
Attach the Cartridge Filter to the end of the Elbow, with a Rubber Gasket in
between.
Use 7 of the M6 x 15mm dome head bolts and washers.
Secure the Filter Collection Bag, 600mm x 900mm, to the Cartridge Filter with the Quick Action Bag Strap.
The plastic bag goes over the outside of the rubber cuff on the filter.
The metal strap sits over the top of the plastic bag, located in a groove. A spring clamp locks it in place.
Negative Pressure Tube Assembly Place a 50mm Hose Clamp over one end of the Flexible Hose.
Secure it to the inlet on the Cyclone Body.
Place a 50mm Hose Clamp over the other end of the Flexible Hose.
Secure it to the outlet in the Dust Collection Drum
The function of the negative pressure hose is to suck the plastic bag to the bottom of the drum.
Fit the Blanking Cap to the Inlet.
Fit the 2 Way Inlet to the Cyclone Body.
Put the locking screw through the end of the Blanking Cap chain then into the Inlet and the Cyclone Body.
Setting Up
Sealing the Drum Lid
The 2 red clamp levers are use to raise and lower the drum lid. When in the
lowered position there needs to be a good seal between the Drum and the Drum
Lid.
Lower the 2 clamps and check the seal. If there is a gap, adjust the upper and lower nuts on the threaded stud to adjust the height of the lid.
For Optimum Performance
Keep the hose length as short as possible. The ridges inside flexible hose
create resistance and slow the airflow.
Maximum recommended hose length is 7m.
Keep the hose as straight as possible. A gradual change in direction is more efficient, for example a 45 degree turn is better than a sharp 90 degree turn.
Using The Cyclone
Starting the Cyclone
When connected to a power supply, the green LED will be illuminated on the
control box.
Press ‘On’ and wait around 15 seconds to allow the airflow to build up before producing any dust.
Press ‘Off’ to stop the cyclone. The cyclone should be left running for 30seconds after the last dust has been produced to clear the hoses.
Emptying The Collection Drum
There is a window provided in the collection drum. When the dust level reaches
the window, it needs to be emptied.
With the machine at rest, lift the drum lid up and slide the drum forward.
Close the plastic bag up and lift it out of the drum. If you are emptying the bag into a larger bin, it can be re-used or fit a new bag.
Emptying The Filter Collection Bag
Some fine dust particle will be collected in the cartridge filter collection
bag. Since the bag is transparent it can be monitored easily and should be
emptied when it is 50% full.
Undo the bag strap and remove it. Empty or replace the collection bag. Refit the clamp ensuring it sits in the groove of the rubber cuff.
Countdown Timer
When running in normal mode the red LED will display ‘L’
Press the yellow ‘Time’ button to cycle the timer mode between 2, 4, 6, & 8 hour countdown. The next press returns the cyclone to normal mode ‘L’
Remote control
The remote control handset can be use to start and stop the cyclone. It can
also be used to set the countdown timer.
It is fitted with a 23A, 12V battery
Maintenance
Filter Cleaning
To ensure the filter stays unclogged without any deterioration in performance
the filter includes an internal cleaning device. Gently rotating the handle,
moves the internal paddle which cleans the inside of the filter and prevents
clogging.
How Often Should It Be Cleaned?
To maintain optimum performance, we recommend: Every time the extractor is
turned off, or every 15 minutes during prolonged periods of running. It can be
cleaned whilst the extractor is still running.
What Is A Cleaning Cycle?
Rotate the handle 2 full turns in each direction.
What Are The Symptoms Of A Clogged Filter?
- Because the air cannot escape from inside the extractor there is a build-up of pressure inside. Air will be forced out of joins and seals which are normally airtight. Dust might be seen leaking out from unexpected places.
- There will be a significant drop in airflow, and therefore collection performance, of the extractor.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Cause | Remedy |
---|---|---|
Machine does not start, Green light not lit | Power supply not connected | Check |
connection is live
Blown fuse in plug| Replace fuse
MCB tripped| Reset breaker on fuseboard
Fault in Control box| Replace control box
Machine does not start, Green light is lit| Start capacitor failed| Replace
start capacitor
Motor failed| Replace motor
Machine does not start using remote handset| Out of range| Move closer to the
cyclone
Dead battery| Replace battery (23A, 12V)
Fault in handset| Replace handset
Machine cuts out when running| Motor overheated| Wait 20 minutes
Deteriorating performance| Ducting blocked| Check and clear blockages
Collection bags are full| Empty both collection bags
Filter is clogged| Clean filter
Poor general performance| Hose length is too long| Keep hoses as short as
possible
Hose diameter is too small| Keep diameter at 100mm wherever possible. Use
minimum lengths ofsmaller diameter hoses.
Too many ports are open| Try closing ports to concentrate the airflow where it
is needed
Not enough ports are open| The cyclone can be starved of air.Try opening
unused ports to help increase airflow.
