4.1 FREE-STANDING
To install the XT Series Wireless Charger in a free-standing manner, select a
convenient tabletop location to place the unit and connect the power supply
(XTCHARGEPWR) to a nearby AC power outlet. Insert the power supply’s output
power pin into the receptacle on the right side of the charger near the back
(Figure 1). When power is first applied to the charger, all three charging
lights will briefly illuminate as a bulb check cycle, after which the WHITE
LIGHT will remain illuminated. This indicates the XT Series Wireless Charger
is powered on and ready for use.
4.2 PERMANENT HARD-MOUNT IN VEHICLE/APPARATUS
To install the XT Series Wireless Charger in a vehicle, select a convenient
location , leaving sufficient clearance above and in front of the charger for
removal and reseating of the thermal imager. It is suggested to leave
sufficient clearance below the charger as well. Before installation, the
vehicle should be turned off. For safety measure, disconnect the DC battery
prior to installation. During installation connect the red wire to the
positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal of the DC
battery. A mounting template is included with the charger as a reference for
clearance requirements and mounting hole spacing. Mount the charger using the
included (4) 5/16″ selftapping hex screws. No drill holes are required because
of this type of screw
WARNING
Failure to disconnect the vehicle battery prior to installation and follow all
installation instructions could cause death or serious injury. Improper
installation could also damage the product and void the Bullard warranty.
5. USAGE
WARNING
Only use the XT Series Wireless Charger to wirelessly charge Bullard XT Series
Thermal Imagers. Failure to follow this instruction and warning can damage the
product, render it unsafe for use, and voids the Bullard warranty. Death or
serious injury can result.
When power is first applied to the XT Series Wireless Charger, (via either
hardwiring to a vehicle or using the optional AC power adapter) all three
charger lights will briefly illuminate as a bulb check cycle, after which the
WHITE LIGHT will remain illuminated. This indicates the charger is powered on
and ready for use. To charge your XT Series Thermal Imager place the imager
into the charger with the display side up and the bottom of the imager facing
the long side of the charger. Ensure that the four pins of the Interface Ring
align with the four holes on the bottom side of the thermal imager. When
seated correctly, the release button will pop up and lock, and a BLUE LIGHT
will illuminate on the right side of the charger. This indicates a connection
with the imager. If there is a problem with the charger or the connection with
the imager, the charger will illuminate an AMBER LIGHT, located beneath the
BLUE LIGHT. In this event, remove and attempt to re-seat the imager. See

When the connection has been verified and the battery is charging, the
imager’s power button will pulse GREEN (for newer models) or RED (for older
models). When fully charged, the power button will illuminate steady GREEN.
If the power button does not illuminate with a pulsing GREEN, but instead a
pulsing ORANGE, remove and re-seat the imager.
If the power button does not illuminate with a pulsing GREEN, but instead a
flashing that alternates between ORANGE and RED (for newer models), the imager
temperature is outside of the charging temperature range. Take the imager off
the charger and let it cool at an ambient temperature and then place it back
on the charger.

8. TROUBLESHOOTING
If the XT Series Wireless Charger is correctly wired to a vehicle but the
WHITE LIGHT is not illuminated, it is possible that the fuse has blown.
Bullard recommends disconnecting power to your XT Series Wireless Charger
before inspecting and replacing the fuse. Locate and open the fuse holder
which is on the red wire near the unit to inspect the fuse. If the fuse has
blown, it can be replaced with a 5x15mm or 5x20mm 5-Ampere glass fuse,
commonly available at most automotive parts suppliers. If the fuse blows
repeatedly, even after replacement, this indicates a fault with either the
vehicle or the charger. In this event, immediately contact a qualified vehicle
technician or Bullard’s Customer Service.
WARNING
Only replace the fuse with an equivalent 5-Ampere fuse. NEVER replace this
fuse or any fuse with one of a higher current rating than designed. Failure to
follow all instructions and warnings could damage the product and render it
unsafe for use. Death or serious injury could occur.
