Get Started

  1. Remove the PULL tab on the back of your remote.
  2. Choose your next step.
  3. TV1 is located in the same room as your DISH receiver. If this remote control is to be used with TV1, go to Set Up Your Remote for TV1 on the next page of this guide. If this remote control will be used in a room that is different from the one with the DISH receiver (TV2), go to Pair Your Remote to Your Receiver in this guide.

Set Up Your Remote for TV1

  1. Remove the battery cover on the back of your remote control.dish-21-1-21-2-Remote-Control-FIG-2
  2. While pushing the circular indentation, slide the cover downward.
  3. Pull out the key on the front of the remote using your thumbnail. Turn it over, and reinsert it so the number 1 is showing.
  4. Using the tip of a pen, move the signal switch on the back of the remote from UHF to IR.
  5. This switch is located to the left of the batteries.
  6. Replace the battery cover. Then, continue to Pair Your Remote to Your Receiver on the next page.

Pair Your Remote to Your Receiver

  1. Press SYSTEM INFO on your receiver.
  2. The appearance and location of the SYSTEM INFO button varies between receiver models.

  4. Press the SAT button on your remote.
  5. Press RECORD on your remote.
  6. Using the TV1 remote, select DONE on screen.

Pair Your Remote to Your Receiver

  1. Press and hold the device button you want to program until all four device buttons light up.
  2. Press and hold TV to pair with your TV.
  3. Press and hold DVD or AUX to pair with any other device.
  4. Enter the three-digit device code (located on the next page) while the device buttons are lit.

  6. Press the device power button to turn your device on or off.
  7. Ensure you are within ten feet of your device, pointing the remote control directly at it.

If your device does not turn off or on, return to step 1, trying a different code for the manufacturer of your device.
