• Design Change Details:
  The design change in the Inside Sump Drain Ball 2024 reduces the number of parts and simplifies adjustment. The new stainless steel drain ball tube and the threaded drain ball push rod provide improved operation.

  The drain ball tube is now stainless steel (part number 085-6665) and the drain ball push rod has a threaded bottom end (part number 086-6370).

• What Remains the Same:
  The drain ball (083-6601), drain shaft weldment (085-6611), drain solenoid (091-2014), drain solenoid link (085-6610), and solenoid spring (098-3007) remain unchanged.

• Installation Instructions:

1. Remove the old drain ball tube and push rod.
2. Install the new stainless steel drain ball tube (085-6665) and threaded drain ball push rod (086-6370).
3. Secure the push rod to the drain solenoid link using the two lock nuts (098-2507).

The drain ball is guided to the same seat position each time the drain ball drops back to the seat, ensuring proper alignment and sealing. This eliminates the need for wingnut attachment of the drain ball assembly.

What Has Changed

The change involves the drain ball tube (084-6610) and the drain ball push rod (086-6307). The new drain ball tube is stainless instead of plastic and the new part number is 085-6665. The new drain ball push rod is 086-6370. The push rod is identified by the threaded bottom end and smooth top. It is also only held in place on the drain solenoid link (085-6610) by two lock nuts (098-2507), rather than the former four-nut arrangement.

What Remains the Same

The drain ball (083-6601) and drain shaft weldment (085-6611) remain the same. The drain solenoid (091-2014) drain solenoid link (085-6610), and solenoid spring (098-3007) all remain the same.

OLD STYLE (1985-2023) solenoid link nut arrangement is no longer used. As of January 2024, these parts will no longer be used on AWS (H) or L90 3DWS models
