· This manual is specific to the car indicated on the cover page, for which it is designed. Installation procedures vary depending on the type of car. Please verify that the Akrapovic product and this installation manual correspond to the type of your car.
· For exhaust system only: the exhaust system can get extremely hot during and after it is used. Make sure not to touch the exhaust system until it is completely cool. Allow the exhaust and engine to cool down before beginning installation.
· Make sure the car is securely positioned to prevent damage to yourself and other, or the car. · Please check the parts you recieved against the parts list available on our website (please

Make sure that you have all the parts necessary for the installation of your new Akrapovic product. REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM OR OTHER VEHICLE’S STOCK PARTS:
The process of uninstalling the original exhaust system or other parts may vary depending on the existing exhaust system or other vehicle parts. Please follow the original vehicle manufacturer’s workshop manual for uninstalling the original exhaust system or other parts. If you for any reason decide otherwise, please note that any information provided in this respect herein should be considered as general information provided for your convenience only. Akrapovic shall not assume any liability or responsibility with regard to uninstalling your existing exhaust system or other parts, warranty coverage of such exhaust system or other parts vehicle or their further fitness for use. In case your Akrapovic exhaust system or other vehicle parts may not be used on certain roads or under certain conditions, please keep the stock (or other) exhaust system or other parts that you can use in such circumstances legally.

REMOVAL OF STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM: 1. Put the vehicle onto a car lift (F 01).
CAUTION: ensure that the car is lifted safely and properly in order to avoid the risk of vehicle damage, injury, or even death! CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

2. Mark the stock exhaust system at marked positions, exactly as shown. Carefully cut the pipes at the marked cutting lines, using pipe cutting tool or equivalent (F 02, 03, 04). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

3. Support the exhaust system, unscrew the front rubber brackets, disconnect all three exhaust valve actuators, unscrew the muffler’s rubber brackets and carefully remove the exhaust system off the vehicle (F 05, 06, 07, 08, 09). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process! CAUTION: support the muffler during this process or you could injure yourself or damage the vehicle!

4. Unscrew and remove both tail pipes off the bumper (F 10, 11, 12, 13). IMPORTANT: make sure, not to damage the bumper or tail pipes during this process!

5. Carefully remove rubber brackets and unscrew all three exhaust valve actuators off the stock exhaust system (F 14, 15, 16, 17, 18). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage any part of the system during this process! INSTALLATION TIP: for easier dismounting, lubricate the rubber brackets (WD40®). 6. Open the trunk, remove the cargo cover, fold the rear backrests, remove the trunk floor panel, car emergency kit, loading sill cover, trunk floor panel, right and left trunk trim panels (to get access to vehicle electrical wiring harness) and remove the marked rubber gromet; check vehicle manufacturer workshop manual for details (F 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33). 2. Disconnect the B2 and B3 connectors from TNG controller; lead the harness into the trunk (make sure, that Akrapovic grommet plugs into place correctly) then lead the left, right and front actuators’ harnesses to the actuators’ locations, connect the Akrapovic connectors to the stock connectors as shown and secure the harness and connectors, using tie wraps from Akrapovic installation kit (F 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49).
IMPORTANT: make sure to secure the harnesses and connectors in such a way, that they won’t touch any hot or moving parts of the vehicle!

3. Install and connect the Controller TNG and CAN sniffer components in the trunk, as shown; secure all wiring, reconnect the B2 and B3 connectors to the Controller TNG unit and tuck the unit as shown (F 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57).
IMPORTANT: make sure to secure all Control Kit components in such a way, that they won’t touch any hot or moving parts of the vehicle!

4. Reinstall removed drive shaft and muffler heat shields; check vehicle manufacturer workshop manual for correct procedures and tightening torques.
5. Install, adjust and tighten the Akrapovic tail pipes into the bumper, using stock bolts; check vehicle manufacturer workshop manual for correct tightening torque (F 58, 59, 60, 61). IMPORTANT: make sure not to damage the bumper or tail pipes during this process! GLE S Coupe:

6. Install stock front valve actuator with stock harness bracket (using M5x20 bolts and M5 nuts from Akrapovic installation kit), double clamps from Akrapovic installation kit and stock rubber brackets onto the link pipes, as shown (F 62, 63, 64, 65). INSTALLATION TIP: for easier mounting, lubricate the original rubber bracket (WD40®). WD-40® is a trademark of the WD-40 Company.

7. Slide the link pipes onto the stock pipes; tighten the front rubber brackets onto the chassis (check the manufacturer’s workshop manual for correct tightening torque), align the pipes in respect to the chassis, center the double clamps and tighten them to the specified torque and connect the front actuator’s connector and secure the harness and connector as shown (F 66, 67, 68, 69). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage the link pipes during this process!

8. Slide the double clamps from Akrapovic installation kit onto the link pipes’ outlets (F 70). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

9. Assemble the stock rubber brackets and stock exhaust valve actuators (using M5 nuts from Akrapovic installation kit) onto the Akrapovic muffler, as shown (F 71, 72, 73). INSTALLATION TIP: for easier mounting, lubricate the rubber brackets (WD40®). WD-40® is a trademark of the WD-40 Company.

10. Carefully slide the muffler onto the link pipes, tighten the rubber brackets onto the chassis (using stock bolts), connect the valve actuators and secure the harnesses as shown, align the muffler in respect to the chassis, align the clamps and tighten them to the specified torque (F 74, 75, 76, 77). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage the muffler during this process!

Reinstall all dismounted stock parts (wheel arch trim, wheel, right under-floor panel, trunk trim etc.); check vehicle manufacturer workshop manual for correct procedures and tightening torques (F 78, 79, 80). CAUTION: make sure not to injure yourself or damage any part of the vehicle during this process!

FINAL INSTALLATION: IMPORTANT: reinstall the dismounted or partially removed stock parts (wheel arches, bumper etc.); check vehicle manufacturer workshop manual for correct procedures and tightening torques.
IMPORTANT: make sure all the nuts and bolts are sufficiently tightened. In case the Akrapovic product touches the cowling or other parts, repeat the adjustment of the product or contact your authorized dealer.
IMPORTANT: clean all Akrapovic product’s surfaces before the first start of the engine or the stains will burn onto the surfaces!
IMPORTANT: in case any component of the Akrapovic product is equipped with DMC code sticker, the sticker and glue residue should be removed from the component, before first use!
MAINTENANCE OF THE AKRAPOVIC PRODUCT: 1. Clean all Akrapovic product’s surfaces. Cleaning will prevent spots from burning onto the
surface. Do not use aggressive chemical cleaners, because they can damage the surface: · Titanium surfaces (titanium muffler’s outer sleeve, titanium pipes etc): use a soft cloth
sprayed with a multi-purpose spray lubricant (WD-40® or equivalent), then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
· Carbon-fiber surfaces (carbon-fiber outlet cap, carbon-fiber muffler’s outer sleeve, carbon-fiber bracket etc): use a soft dry cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
· Painted surfaces (painted outlet cap, painted muffler’s outer sleeve, painted bracket etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
· Chrome plated surfaces (chrome plated outlet cap, chrome plated muffler’s outer sleeve etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with all purpose foam cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
· Stainless steel surfaces (stainless steel muffler’s outer sleeve, stainless steel pipes etc): use a soft cloth sprayed with a contact cleaner, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.

TROUBLESHOOTING: Problem

Possible cause

Exhaust gas leaks out of the muffler/pipe clamp connections

loosened clamp
connection is not completely joined

No supply

Valves are not moving

Error detected

Solution tighten the clamp to specified torque

tap the connection into place and tighten the clamp to specified torque

Check green LED on the Controller TNG.

If the LED is off:

Check electrical connection

and connectors

· valves

Check fuse for exhaust

Check green LED on the Controller TNG.

If the LED is continuously ON:

There are no errors

detected.

If the LED is continuously blinking:

·

There is an error detected.

Connect the Controller TNG to PC via

USB cable and use Akrapovic Tools

diagnostic utility. This action can be

performed only by authorized Akrapovic

dealers.
