  • Fold back braiding, ensuring no braids touch the center conductor. Straighten the conductor if necessary. Do not remove foil attached to the white dielectric (RG6/6Q).
  • Center the cable over the back end of the connector and push the connector onto the cable until resistance is felt.
  • Twist the connector body clockwise while pushing towards the cable until fully seated.
  • When the white dielectric is flush with the bottom of the nut, the connector is fully seated.
  • Connect to the device.

Note: The general preparation instructions are also applicable for RG59 IDEAL F Twist-On connectors.

FAQ

  • Q: Can this connector be used with other types of cables?
  • A: The IDEAL Twist-On F Connector is designed for use with RG6/6Q coaxial cables. While general preparation instructions apply to RG59 as well, it is recommended to use the appropriate connectors for specific cable types.
  • Q: What should I do if I encounter resistance while twisting the connector onto the cable?
  • A: If you feel resistance while twisting the connector onto the cable, ensure that the cable is properly aligned and that there are no obstructions. Gently adjust the positioning and try twisting again.

Installation Instructions

IDEAL Twist-On F Connector Termination Instructions

  1. Use a coax stripper to strip the cable so ¼” of conductor and ¼” of braiding are exposed. (45-605 shown)
  2. Fold back braiding, and make sure no braids are touching the center conductor. Straighten the conductor if needed. Do not remove foil that is attached to the white dielectric (RG6/6Q)
  3. Center the cable over the back end of the connector and push the connector on to cable until resistance is felt. Then begin twisting connector body clockwise while pushing towards the cable.
  4. Twist until the cable is fully seated. When the white dielectric is flush with the bottom of the nut connector is fully seated.
  5. Connect to a device.

RG6 coax is used in this example. General preparation instructions are the same for RG59 IDEAL F Twist-On connectors.
