IDEAL 30-503 F Hex Crimp Connectors

Product Information

Specifications

  • Product Name: IDEAL F Crimp Connector
  • Compatibility: RG6, RG6Q, RG59 cables
  • Crimp Tool Compatibility: 30-503 tool

Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Preparation

  1. Fold back the braiding ensuring no braids touch the center conductor.
  2. Straighten the conductor if necessary. Do not remove the foil attached to the white dielectric (RG6/6Q).

Step 2: Connection

  1. Center the cable over the back end of the connector and push it until fully seated with the dielectric flush with the bottom of the nut.

Step 3: Crimping

  1. Only crimp below the shoulder ring on the connector.
  2. Place the assembly in the appropriate crimp tool cavity (30-503) and crimp.

Step 4: Verification

  1. Ensure the connector is fully crimped without any cracks or pinches from using the incorrect tool cavity.

Note: For the RG6 Quad cable, remove the outer foil and fold down the inner braiding before pushing the connector onto the cable.

FAQ

  • Q: Can I use this connector with an RG59 cable?
  • A: Yes, this IDEAL F Crimp Connector is compatible with RG59 cables.
  • Q: Which crimp tool should I use for RG6 Quad F connectors?
  • A: Use the largest cavity (.350 hex) of the 30-503 tool for RG6 Quad F connectors.

IDEAL F Crimp Termination Instructions

  1. Use a coax stripper to strip the cable so ¼” of conductor and ¼” of braiding are exposed. (45-605 shown)

  2. Fold back braiding, and make sure no braids are touching the center conductor. Straighten the conductor if needed. Do not remove foil that is attached to the white dielectric (RG6/6Q

  3. Center the cable over the back end of the connector and push the connector on to the cable until fully seated.
Dielectric flush with the bottom of nut.

  4. When crimping the connector, only crimp the areas below the shoulder ring.

  5. Place assembly in appropriate crimp tool cavity (30-503 shown) and crimp.

  6. Verify connector is fully crimped and the body is not cracked or pinched from the incorrect tool cavity being used.

RG6 coax is used in this example. General preparation instructions are the same for all IDEAL F crimp connectors. When working with RG6 Quad cable, the outer foil can be removed, and the inner braiding should be folded down. This makes it easier to push the connector on to the cable. For IDEAL F crimp connectors, RG6 and RG59 use the middle cavity of the 30-503 tool (.320” hex). The RG6 Quad F uses the largest cavity (.350” hex)
