Chapter A – Product-specific information

General information
These guardrail feet are only to be used in conjunction with the following guardrail systems:

SKB Geländer Temporärer Seitenschutz Klasse A

EN13374:2019

Can be combined with the side guards: S1200-2

The inclination of the side guard is created by using the correspondingly inclined foot. It should be noted here that not all side protection systems can be used when realising the slope due to the reduction in the height of the handrail caused by the slope. The handrail must always have a minimum height of 1100mm above the finished roof surface or walking surface.

If the products are sold abroad, the dealer is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturer’s documentation is supplied in the relevant national language.
All products may not be modified or supplemented without the explicit written consent of Sicherheitskonzepte Breuer GmbH, as this would endanger the functionality and thus the safety of the user.
Only original parts of the side protection systems from Sicherheitskonzepte Breuer GmbH may be used.
The side protection systems must be withdrawn from use immediately if there is any doubt about safe use.
After a person has fallen or an object has fallen against or into the side guard system and its accessories, the side guard system may only continue to be used if it has been checked by a competent person.
It must be ensured that no other persons can be injured by the work to be carried out, e.g. by falling tools. The area under the work area must be kept clear.
Legal requirements, such as accident prevention regulations, must be complied with.
Check before use
Before each use, the user must carry out an inspection of the equipment to ensure that it is in good working order and in a condition for use. The following criteria must be checked before use:
no signs of corrosion no loose connections and connectors no bending and deformation no optical defects complete and proper labelling no cracks no wear firm connection to the mounting surface all counterweights present or firm connection to the mounting surface
Use
All side protection systems serve exclusively to protect persons against falling from a height. The side guard systems must not be used for other purposes (e.g. for transporting materials or as a lifting device). In addition, the specified conditions of use must be observed.
There must also be a rescue plan in place prior to the start of use that takes into account all of the possible emergencies.
If there are any uncertainties during use or installation, contact the manufacturer.

Installation
It is essential to follow the enclosed installation instructions for all products.
Some health conditions (e.g. taking medication) may affect the user’s fitness in normal and emergency situations. If there is any uncertainty about the user’s health condition, consult a doctor.
The mounting substrates must be suitable for the respective side protection systems. The suitability of the substrate must be checked before installation. The requirements for the suitability of the substrate can be found in the corresponding installation instructions. If there is any uncertainty or doubt about the suitability of the mounting surface, the side protection systems must not be installed or used and a structural engineer must be consulted.
If individual products are assembled to form a system, the assembly instructions of Sicherheitskonzepte Breuer GmbH must also be observed here. Above all, it must be ensured that the individual elements of the system fit together. If anything is unclear, the manufacturer must be contacted. It must be noted that the safety of the user and the functionality of the entire system is at risk if a safe function of one of the elements or components of the system is impaired.
During installation and use of the railing system, the relevant accident prevention regulations must be observed.
During installation, make sure that the product marking can be read. If the product marking is no longer accessible after installation, another marking must be applied.
Stainless steel must not come into contact with grinding dust or steel tools, otherwise surface corrosion may occur. The railing systems must be installed in such a way that it is not possible to fall over the edge when in use.
An installation report must be prepared for the installation and the installation documentation must be kept for inspection. The installation report printed in this booklet can be used for this purpose or, alternatively, the Breuer Doku App.

Transport and storage
Transport and storage must be carried out in the original packaging of Sicherheitskonzepte Breuer GmbH. Storage should take place protected from the weather and in a dry place. Transport and storage must not cause any damage to the products.

Regular review
The railing systems should be subjected to a regular inspection by an expert trained and certified by Sicherheitskonzepte Breuer GmbH. The inspection must be carried out in exact compliance with the instructions of Sicherheitskonzepte Breuer GmbH. The regular inspection serves the safety of the user. The regular inspection serves the safety of the user. The periodic inspection must be carried out taking into account legal regulations, the type of product, the frequency of use and the relevant environmental conditions. It is recommended that the interval between two inspections should not exceed 12 months. During the inspection, the legibility of the product marking shall be checked. The regular inspection should be documented by an expert. The inspection documentation printed in this booklet can be used for this purpose or equivalent documentation can be prepared. The date of the last inspection should be documented on the side guard.

Maintenance and servicing
All repairs must be carried out by trained personnel according to the manufacturer’s specifications. If there is any uncertainty or doubt, contact the manufacturer.
The side guards are not subject to any special maintenance requirements. In case of soiling, the metal parts can be cleaned by simply wiping them after use. Other types of cleaning (chemical cleaning, etc.) are not permitted.
