Product Usage Instructions

Safety Information

  • The regulator must not be positioned lower than the top of the tank or outlet valve to prevent gas vapor from draining into the regulator.
  • Any additional pipes or hoses used should be inclined so that any liquefied or condensed gas can drain back into the tank.

Installation

  • Ensure the cylinder is turned off before dismounting the gas cylinder.

Leak Test Procedure

  • Perform a leak test before use to ensure there are no gas leaks.

Excess Flow Valve Feature (EFV)

  • The regulator is equipped with an Excess Flow Valve feature.

FAQ

Where can I contact CADAC for support?

You can contact CADAC through their various regional offices listed below.

Safety Information

  • Always install the regulator in the Gas OFF position only.
  • In normal conditions of use, to ensure a safe operation of installation, it is recommended that the regulator should be changed every 5 years from the date of manufacture.
  • For outdoor use, the device should be positioned and protected against direct contact with water.
  • Before installation make sure that the rubber seal/gasket in the cylinder valve or regulator is in good condition.
  • Make sure all valves on the appliance are turned off.
  • The cylinder is to be kept in an upright position during use.
  • PVC hoses must be in good condition, with no signs of wear or damage, and should not be more than 5 years old.
  • Do not try to remove the regulator while the gas is ON.
  • Do not move the cylinder while in operation.
  • Do not change the cylinder in the presence of any sources of ignition such as naked flames
  • When the regulator is installed downstream of another regulator, the supply pressure range shall be correct for the regulated pressure range of the upstream regulator, plus any pressure losses in the interconnecting pipe work.
  • That downstream installation pressure loss shall not exceed the P marked on the device.

If fitting the regulator indirectly to a pressurized tank:

  • The regulator must not be positioned lower than the top of the tank or outlet valve.
  • This is to avoid any gas vapor which may have re-liquefied from draining down into the regulator.
  • Any additional pipes or hoses used to connect the regulator must be inclined so that any liquefied or condensed gas can drain back into the tank.

Installation

Before installing:

  • Check the gasket/seal on the cylinder valve is in place and good condition.
  • If the gas valve is not in good condition, ask your dealer to replace it with another cylinder valve.
  • Conduct a visual inspection of the regulator. Remove any dirt or loose metal shavings.
  • Fit the gas hose to the gas appliance. Use water or liquid soap for lubrication of the hose. Insert the hose firmly onto the valve tailpiece and clamp it securely using the hose clamp provided.
  • In the total absence of any flame, remove the protection seal or cap from the gas cylinder valve and attach the regulator to the gas cylinder.
  • Connect the regulator end to the gas cylinder by screwing the regulator onto the cylinder valve. Do not twist and turn the hose when connecting the adaptor hose.
  • After connecting the hose and regulator, check all connections for any signs of a gas leak before operating the appliance. This check should be done with every use. If no leaks are indicated, the gas appliance can be started up.
  • Once you have finished using the gas appliance, ensure that the gas supply control on both the gas appliance and the gas cylinder is turned to the OFF position before dismounting the gas cylinder.

Leak Test Procedure

  • It is important that all gas connections have been correctly connected to prevent any gas leaks.
  • The correct way to conduct a gas leak test is to smear all joints along the connection with soapy water. Turn the appliance control knob slightly and open the gas valve slightly to turn the gas on.
  • If bubbles form at any of the joints, then there is a gas leak.
  • Immediately turn the gas off and disconnect the gas supply from the appliance.
  • Check that all gaskets/seals are in place and good condition before reconnecting the gas supply.
  • Ensure that all the connections are properly fitted.
  • Re-check with soapy water after refitting the gas supply.
  • If a gas leak persists, return the product to your local dealer for inspection/repair.
