Operating Instructions

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing a Hama product.
Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely.

Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you sell the device, please pass these operating instructions on to the new owner.

1.1 Explanation of warning symbols and notes

Risk of electric shock
This symbol indicates a risk of electric shock from touching uninsulated product parts that may carry hazardous voltage.

This symbol is used to indicate safety instructions or to draw your attention to specific hazards and risks.

This symbol is used to indicate additional information or important notes.

1.2 Explanation of symbols used on the product label

Non-dimmable.
The lamp is not suitable for use with a conventional dimmer.
Electrical device of safety class II.
Protection against electric shock thanks to reinforced or double insulation of live parts.

3. Safety instructions

Risk of electric shock

  • Do not open the product and do not operate it if it is damaged, if smoke, a strange smell or loud noises are coming from it. Immediately contact your dealer or our service department (see “Service and Support”).
  • Do not use the product if the AC adapter, the adapter cable or the mains cable are damaged.
  • Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.

Warning

  • The device may only be operated on a 230 V 50 Hz AC voltage network. Work on the 230 V network must only be carried out by an electrician certified in your country. The applicable accident prevention regulations must be adhered to.
  • If you will not be using the product for a prolonged period, disconnect it from mains power.
  • Only operate the product from an approved socket that is connected to the public power supply. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
  • Disconnect the product from the power supply using the On/Off switch ­ if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
  • If using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the socket strip’s maximum throughput rating.
  • Do not use the product in the packaging or in a rolled-up state. · Do not bend or crush the cable.
  • Take care not to kink the product. This can cause damage to the product.
  • Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
  • Route all cables so there is no risk of tripping.
  • Always pull directly on the plug when disconnecting the cable, never on the cable itself.
  • The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
  • Use the product only for the intended purpose.
  • Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.
  • As with all electrical products, this device should be kept out of the reach of children.
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
  • Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
  • Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
  • The product must only be operated on a supply network as described on the type plate.
  • Not suitable for operation with dimmers, electrical switches, photo cells, time switches or twilight switches.

The light source for this light is replaceable.

The adapter for this light can be replaced.

4. Installation & extension

Note

  • We recommend mounting on a rope.
  • Hang the light chain on the rope using the hooks
  • Up to two light chains can be connected together
  • Connect the light chains as described in the illustrated instructions.

Remove the controller and LED driver.

Connect the connector of the first light chain to the connector of the second light chain

Fix the connector.

5. Installing the Hama Smart Home app

To use all the functions of the device, you need a smartphone/tablet and the Hama Smart Home app.

Note

  • The following operating systems are supported:
  • iOS 16.3 or later
  • Android 6.0 or later
  • Download the Hama Smart Home app from the App Store (iOS) or from Google Play (Android) to your smartphone/tablet.
  • To install the app, follow the instructions on your smartphone/tablet.
  • Open the app on your smartphone/tablet.

Note

  • While setting up the app, you will be asked whether the app has permission to access the functions of your smartphone/tablet. Say yes to these prompts for the full functionality of the device.
  • Register to create a new account. Alternatively, log in with the access data of your existing account.
  • Follow the instructions for setting up the app until you can add a new device.

Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Hama Smart Home app.

6. Integrating devices into the Hama Smart Home app
  • Download the Hama Smart Home app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  • Open the Hama Smart Home app

  • The first time you use the app, you need to register and create a new account. If you already have an account, log in with your access details

  • Connect the product to a properly installed socket.

  • The smart product starts flashing quickly. If it does not, the product must be disconnected from and reconnected to the power supply three times in succession.

  • Open the app and sign in.

  • Press the + in the top right-hand corner to add a new device.

  • Choose Lamps from the list.

  • Next enter your WiFi password and confirm with “Next”.

  • Now confirm that the product is flashing quickly by ticking “Next step” and clicking “Next”.

  • Your product is now connected..

  • Once the connection is successful, the product stops flashing quickly and the app confirms that the product is connected. You can now assign it a different name if you wish.

  • Click finish to end the process.

  • Now you can control the product.

7. Setting options

The following settings can be made in the app:

For extended usage options, scenarios can be created in the app. (See Section 8 and App Guide)

1 Light Open the RGB colour settings tab
2 Scenario Open the Colour scenarios tab. Customised light settings can be

stored here and selected at the press of a button.
3| Colour slider| Set the preferred colour temperature here.
4| Colours| Press the button to select the desired pre-installed colour.
5| Saturation controller| Set the preferred saturation here.
6| Schedule| Create time-controlled programmes here.
7| On/Off switch| Switch the light on or off with the press of a button.

8. Extended usage options with scenarios
8.1 utilisation by scenes

Scenarios and automated sequences that can be created in the app allow various combination options and usage options for these products, depending on the SmartHome products in your home. Programming is always via the app (see Section 4 of the App Guide) and will be offered / suggested to you on an individual basis.

Standard usage option

8.2 Control via voice assistants

The following voice commands are supported:

  • Switch on / off
    “Alexa / OK Google, switch the light on”

  • Control colour
    “Alexa / OK Google, switch the light to red”

10.Care and maintenance

Note
Disconnect the device from the mains before cleaning and during prolonged periods of non-use.

Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning products.
Ensure that no water is able to enter the product.
