This guide explains the setup and operation of the Flex VRA remote control, P/N Flex-Remote-1.

The package contains the remote and the USB receiver.

Overview

  • Flex wireless remote control is a single-frequency remote that transmits a 433.92 MHz (FSK) signal to Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) system.

Flex VRA System Operation

Pairing the Remote

  • To pair the remote control with the USB receiver:
    • Press and Hold the Light On Button (3) and Lights Only Button (8) for 3 seconds.
    • The red Feedback LED turns ON and flashes.
    • Press the pairing button on the USB receiver once.
    • The Remote accepts the USB receiver pairing request.
    • Green Feedback LED blinks one time (slowly), turns OFF, and remote exits pairing mode.
    • The Remote is now paired to the USB receiver.

Un-Pairing Process

  • Press and Hold the Light On Button (3) and Custom Button (9) for 3 seconds.
  • RED Feedback LED turns ON.
  • RED feedback LED blinks 5 times (slowly).
  • Remote is now un-paired to the USB receiver.

Button Assignments

Normal Use – Remote Paired

  • The user pushes a button on the remote.
    • THE GREEN LED on the remote blinks for the duration of the button being held down.
    • Attempted Use – Remote Not Paired
  • The user pushes a button on the remote.
    • The RED LED on the remote blinks while the button is held down, but no signal is received by the USB receiver.

Replacing the Battery

  • This remote needs a battery to operate.
  • Replace the battery when needed with 2 AAA batteries.

To replace the battery:

  • Pull the battery compartment out and remove the old batteries.
  • Insert the replacement batteries.
  • Close the battery compartment.
  • If necessary, perform the pairing procedure.
