Get to know your MTX2-42-T

2| INPUT Buttons| USB-C (1 and 2)| Ÿ Press to select a USB-C input. Button
illuminates when that input is selected.
Ÿ Press and hold the OUTPUT and the USB-C-1 buttons simultaneously, for 3 seconds, to update the FW.
Ÿ Press and hold the OUTPUT and the USB-C-2 buttons simultaneously, for 3 seconds, for FACTORY RESET.
HDMI (1 and 2)| Press to select an HDMI input. Button illuminates when that
input is selected.
3| USB| Select Button| Press to select the USB HOST port to connect to the USB
devices
1 & 2 LEDs| Lights green when selected.
4| PANEL LOCK Button| Press and hold to lock/unlock the front panel buttons.
Button illuminates when front panel is locked.
5| USB 3.0 DEVICES Type A Connectors (3)| Connect to USB devices. The user can
select which USB host is connected to the USB devices.
6| USB 3.0 Host Type B Connectors (1 and 2)| Connect to USB hosts.
7| AUDIO IN| AUX 3.5mm Mini Jack| Connect to an unbalanced analog audio source
(for example, the audio output
of the laptop).
MIC 3-pin Terminal Block| Connect to a dynamic or condenser (with 48V phantom
power) microphone.
8| AUDIO OUT 5-pin Terminal Block| Connect to a balanced stereo audio acceptor
(for example, active speakers).

Mount MTX2-42-T
Install MTX2-42-T using one of the following methods:

Attach the rubber feet and place the unit on a flat surface.

Fasten a bracket (included) on each side of the unit and attach it to a flat surface (see www.kramerav.com/downloads/MTX2-42-T).

Mount the unit in a rack using the recommended rack adapter (see www.kramerav.com/product/MTX2-42-T).
- Ensure that the environment (e.g., maximum ambient temperature & air flow) is compatible for the device.
- Avoid uneven mechanical loading.
- Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be used for avoiding overloading of the circuits.
- Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained.
- Maximum mounting height for the device is 2 meters.
Connect inputs and outputs
Wiring the RJ-45 Connectors
- This section defines the TP pinout, using a straight pin-to-pin cable with RJ-45 connectors.
- It is recommended that the cable ground shielding be connected/soldered to the connector shield.
- To achieve specified extension distances, use the recommended Kramer cables available at www.kramerav.com/product/MTX2-42-T.
Using third-party cables may cause damage!

- There are no operator serviceable parts inside the unit.

- Use only the power cord that is supplied with the unit.
- Disconnect the power and unplug the unit from the wall before installing.
Operate MTX2-42-T
Operate MTX2-42-T via:
- Front panel buttons.
- Remotely, by RS 232 serial commands transmitted by a touch screen system, PC, or other serial controller.
