DIRECTIONS FOR MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
  1. Determine the location of the Polar Blox™ per Manufacturer’s recommendation (see above).

  2. Clean the roof surface where the Blox will be placed with xylene or isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry completely.

  3. Apply an even coating of transparent silicone sealant to the Blox base. We recommend SB-190 as it is a sealant and adhesive. (Use a non-acetic acid silicone on Galvalume® or galvanized roofs.)

  4. Each Polar Blox™ should be positioned with the holes against the roof and the face of the Blox toward the roof ridge.

  5. Use #12 or #14 Self-Tapping screws with neoprene washers under the heads. Screw through the Polar Blox™ and roofing material, into the purlin or structural support.

  6. Tighten the screws to ensure an adequate squeeze-out of silicon sealant around the entire edge of the Blox. Do not over-tighten. Run a bead of silicone along any voids along the perimeter.

  7. To ensure a weather-tight seal, use a gloved finger to smooth the sealant along the edge of the Blox.

  8. Vertical Distance

  9. Horizontal Spacing

DIRECTIONS FOR ADHESIVE MOUNTING
  1. Determine the location of the Polar Blox per Manufacturer’s recommendation (see above).
  2. Clean the roof surface where the Blox will be placed with xylene or isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry completely.
  3. Generously apply an even coating of adhesive to the Blox base, covering the entire area to be mounted. We recommend SB-190 as it is an adhesive and sealant.
  4. Each Polar Blox™ should be positioned with the holes against the roof and the face of the Blox toward the roof ridge.
  5. Press each Polar Blox™ firmly against the roof surface. Make sure there is no air trapped under the Blox and that there is an adequate squeeze-out of silicon adhesive along the entire perimeter.
  6. To ensure a weather-tight seal, use a gloved finger to smooth the adhesive along the edge of the Blox.
