Commissioning and application

Attention! The device is calibrated at the factory. The digital dummy thermometer is designed so that no calibration is necessary before measurement or during further use.

  1. Disinfect before each use!
  2. Select the unit of measurement degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit. When the appliance is switched off, press and hold the on/off button (A2) for approx. 2 seconds. 0c or °F appears on the right-hand LCD display. Repeat the process until the desired unit of measurement is reached.
  3. To measure body temperature, briefly press the on/off button (A2). 188.8°C or 188.8°F appears on the LCD display for approx. 2 seconds and a beep sounds. The last measured value is then displayed for approx. 2 seconds. This is followed by the display of 37.0°C and immediately afterwards the Lo°C display.
  4. The body temperature can now be measured.
  5. The handling is no different to that of conventional soothers. Carefully insert the dummy thermometer into the mouth of the infant to be measured. The normal body temperature in the oral cavity is between 35.7°C and 37.3°C. Make sure that the infant keeps its mouth closed as much as possible, otherwise the measurement will not be correct. The end of the measurement is indicated by a repeated acoustic signal and segments of the display stop flashing. The temperature shown on the LCD display remains constant. The measuring time is approx. 60 seconds. If the temperature measurement exceeds 37.8°C (100°F), a beep will also sound, but at shorter intervals. Caution! Always leave the dummy thermometer in the mouth for at least 2 minutes. It is possible that the temperature measurement will continue.
  6. Switch the dummy thermometer off again after use by briefly pressing the on/off button(A2). It also switches itself off after approx. 60 seconds.

Attention!

  • If the measured temperature is above 37.B”C (100°F), we recommend a rectal pre measurements with a normal digital thermometer. If the measurement result is confirmed, please consult a doctor.
  • If the measured temperature is above 42.9°C, Hi°C is displayed on the LCD. If it is below 32.0°C, Low°C is shown in the LCD display. In both cases, call for medical assistance Immediately !!!

  • NOTE 1 At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the higher frequency range applies.
  • NOTE 2 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
  • The ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) bands between 0,15 MHz and 80 MHz are 6,765 MHz to 6,795 MHz; 13,553 MHz to 13,567 MHz; 26,957 MHz to 27,283 MHz; and 40,66 MHz to 40,70 MHz. The amateur radio bands between 0,15 MHz and 80 MHz are 1,8 MHz to 2,0 MHz, 3,5 MHz to 4,0 MHz, 5,3 MHz to 5,4 MHz, 7 MHz to 7,3 MHz, 10,1 MHz to 10,15 MHz, 14 MHz to 14,2 MHz, 18,07 MHz to 18,17 MHz, 21,0 MHz to 21,4 MHz, 24,89 MHz to 24,99 MHz, 28,0 MHz to 29,7 MHz and 50,0 MHz to 54,0 MHz.
  •  The compliance levels in the ISM frequency bands between 150 kHz and 80 MHz and in the frequency range 80 MHz to 2,7 GHz are intended to decrease the likelihood that mobile/portable communications equipment could cause interference if it is inadvertently brought into patient areas. For this reason, an additional factor of 10/3 has been incorporated into the formulae used in calculating the recommended separation distance for transmitters in these frequency ranges.
  • Field strengths from fixed transmitters, such as base stations for radio (cellular/cordless) telephones and land mobile radios, amateur radio, AM and FM radio broadcast and TV broadcast cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy. To assess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be considered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the device is used exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the device should be observed to verify normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary, such as re-orienting or relocating the device
  • Over the frequency rinse 150 kH7 to 80 MHz. field strength should be less than 3 Vim.
