Important Safety Instructions

  • Following these safety Instructions will help guarantee reliable functioning and a long lifespan of your Prowise touchscreen.
  • In case of malfunctions, please contact Prowise Customer Service or a certified partner to avoid damage.
    • CAUTION! Follow the safety Instructions below:
  • Prowise B.V. is not liable for injury, damage, and/or excessive wear due to incorrect use or maintenance of, or modifications to, the device.
  • Only use components and accessories supplied by Prowise.
  • Repairs or modifications by third parties are not permitted.
  • Do not use this device in an environment with potential explosion hazards. This includes Ex, dust, or gas zones.
  • Do not use this device in dusty or high-humidity environments.
  • Ensure there is enough free space around the screen so that the ventilation openings are not blocked, and overheating cannot occur.
  • Install the touchscreen on a stable wall or floor.
  • Do not place the touchscreen close to equipment that generates heat.
  • The maximum daily operating time is 16 hours (uptime 16/7).

WARNING! Warning for electrified parts

  • The total output power of Type-C, OPS, and speaker: 150W (Max.)
  • Never open the housing of the touchscreen! You can be shocked or instigate a short circuit or even a fire, potentially resulting in serious physical injury or damage to the touchscreen.
  • Do not insert objects into the openings of the touchscreen that are not intended for this purpose. This could result in a short circuit or even fire.
  • Do not use the touchscreen during thunderstorms to avoid damage caused by a lightning strike.
  • Make sure the touchscreen does not get wet! This could lead to short-circuiting and electrocution hazards. Do not install the screen close to water and do not place objects containing liquids on or next to the device.
  • The plugs must never come into contact with water. Should this occur, switch off the main power switch in the electrical cabinet, and unplug the power cord. The plugs have to be completely dry before the device can be used again.
  • Never touch the plugs with wet hands.
  • Make sure you never overload the electrical outlet, for example, by using a multi-outlet adapter. Overloading can result in a short circuit.
  • Only plug the power cable into grounded electrical outlets with AC 100-240V ~50/60Hz.
  • Turn off the touchscreen immediately or do not turn it on, unplug the power cord and contact Prowise Customer Service in case:
  • The power cable or plug is damaged. Only replace defective connection cables with original parts. Never repair damaged cables and plugs yourself but replace them instead.
  • The housing or the screen is damaged or liquids have penetrated the device.
  • The device emits unusual noises or odors. This could be the result of an internal short circuit.

HAZARD WARNING! Warning Potential (serious) injury

  • Ensure that the screen is installed at the correct height or that the lift is set to the correct height when the screen is used.
  • Never let children hang onto the screen and, if applicable, never lean or hang onto whiteboards mounted to the screen.
  • Ensure the connecting cable does not lie in the walkway to prevent the risk of stumbling over it.
  • If the glass panel breaks for any reason, there is a risk of cutting yourself on sharp glass. Only have the screen repaired by a professional technician, trained by Prowise.
  • Contact the Prowise Customer Service or a certified Prowise partner in case of defects to the screen.

CAUTION!

  • Do not stand on a chair, stool, or other object to operate the touchscreen. This applies particularly to children! This involves a risk of falling that could result in serious injury.
  • Never remove a module (for example the PC module) while the touchscreen is switched on.
  • Over time, dust can accumulate inside the touchscreen which can cause overheating.
  • To avoid this, have the touchscreen cleaned periodically by Prowise or a certified partner.
  • Ensure that the screen is not exposed to severe shocks, vibrations, or impacts. This can damage the device and the screen.
  • To avoid damage, do not touch the screen with sharp or hard objects.
  • Only move the screen if it is mounted on a mobile or tiltable lift. Never try to disassemble or move the screen by yourself.
  • The screen is heavy and may only be removed by professional Prowise personnel or an accredited partner.

Scope of Delivery

Please check that the delivery is complete and if it is incomplete, contact Prowise Customer Service in writing within five (5) days of delivery. Provide the serial number and a copy of the invoice in this notice.

HAZARD WARNING! Keep the packaging material, such as plastic film, away from children. Incorrect use of the packaging material can lead to suffocation hazards.

  • Wait 24 hours after delivery before using the device to allow it to adapt to the ambient temperature. Changes in temperature or high humidity can cause condensation in the touchscreen, which could result in a short circuit or condensation behind the glass panel.
  • Only have the touchscreen installed by skilled Prowise staff or by a certified partner.

Cables

  • To avoid damage to the cables, do not place any objects on the cables. Make sure cables are not kinked or trapped.
  • Only connect peripheral devices such as a keyboard, mouse, or external PCs while the touchscreen is switched off. This prevents damage to the equipment.
  • Keep at least a distance of one meter from sources with high frequency and/or magnetic interference (TV, speakers, mobile phones, DECT phones, etc.) to avoid malfunctions and data loss.
  • To connect the touchscreen to external interfaces, only use a shielded cable with a maximum length of 5 meters. Cables that are longer can reduce the signal strength.
  • Only connect peripheral devices that comply with the EN-IEC 60950 regulation ‘Information technology equipment – Safety’ or the EN-IEC 60065 regulation ‘Audio, video and similar electronic apparatus – Safety Instructions’ or the EN-IEC 62368-1 regulation ‘Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment – Part 1: Safety Instructions’.
  • If the 1/0 ports at the front of the touchscreen are used, be careful not to bump into the connected cables/USB sticks. This can cause damage to cables or the ports of the screen.

The touchscreen

  • Follow the instructions below to extend the lifespan of the touchscreen:
    • Operate the touchscreen with your fingers) or with the supplied Prowise Pens, which have been specially developed for this purpose. Do not operate the screen with a ballpoint pen or a sharp object.
    • This can damage the touchscreen. Dust and grease on the touchscreen reduce its sensitivity.
    • Remove dust or grease from the screen with a soft, dry lint-free cloth. If you wish to use a cleaning agent, apply it to a cloth first.
    • Never apply a cleaning agent directly to the screen and only use cleaning agents that are recommended by Prowise. Only clean the screen with a clean, dust-free cloth and a mild detergent (PH value of 7 to 9).
    • Do not affix objects to the screen or the edge of the screen and do not hang anything on the screen. This can negatively affect the functioning of the touchscreen.
    • Make sure the screen is not exposed to severe shocks, vibrations, or knocks. This can damage the device and the screen.

Ergonomics WARNING!

  • Excessive sound volume causes permanent hearing damage.
  • Hearing damage can also occur if the listener is exposed to the high sound volume of the device for an extended period.
  • This also applies to the use of headphones!
  • Always adjust the screen to the correct height before use. Avoid a slouched posture and make sure that all corners of the screen are within reach.
  • In the optimal position of the screen, you can reach both the top and bottom of the screen without needing to bow down or reach up high.
  • Physical complaints, resulting from improper posture, can be avoided by adjusting the screen to the right height.
  • Set the sound volume to the minimum before you play sounds, music, or videos. Start the media file and gradually increase the volume to a pleasant level.
  • This prevents permanent hearing damage, including if you use headphones!

Low Blue Light Instructions

  • The wavelength of blue light is between 300 nm and 500 nm. This product has the function of reducing blue light emission (the factory default is low blue light mode)
  • Eye protection tips: it is recommended to place this product at a distance of 2.2 meters.
