Product Information

The DS IRIS SYSTEM provides access to various functions and settings depending on the vehicle’s version and configuration. It includes features such as temperature settings for air conditioning, navigation information, and quick access  settings.

Starting Up and Operating the System

When the ignition is switched on, the system starts up. Pressing the system button with the engine running mutes the sound. A long press initiates standby mode with the clock displayed on the screen. To adjust sound volume, use the dial or plus/minus keys.

Accessing Features

To access the notification center and quick settings, perform an off-screen gesture by sliding a finger from top to bottom on the touch screen. Use the button to display the last Home page used. Scroll through Home pages by sliding your finger right or left on the screen.

Configuring Profiles

To configure profiles, press the Settings application, select Profile, and create or personalize new profiles. The system includes a Guest profile that cannot be deleted.

  • When the ignition is switched on, the system starts up. With the ignition off, pressing it switches the system on. With the engine running, pressing the button mutes the sound. A long press starts standby mode: the sound cuts off, the screens go off and the clock is displayed on the central screen.

  • Press the application ” Settings “. In the list, select the ” Profile “. The on-screen display presents a “Guest” profile integrated into the system and the possibility of creating and personalizing several new profiles, whether or not associated with mobile devices.
  • The profile ” Guest ” has a default display with the possibility of enriching it and/or resetting it to its initial configuration. This profile is integrated into the system and cannot be deleted.
  • Each profile created can be associated with a nomadic device of your choice connected via Bluetooth ®, activate first the Bluetooth function ® of the mobile device. This association allows the system to detect your presence in the vehicle when it is started and to propose the activation of your personalized profile. The connected nomadic device serves as the profile access key and restores the last value of the associated Private Mode. If a profile is not connected to the mobile device, the last profile used will be highlighted.
  • Select ” Create Profile ” then follow the procedure. Creating a new profile allows you to customize:
  • Language, units, Privacy Settings.
  • Screen configuration, appearance, and SMART TOUCH (depending on equipment).
  • Audio settings, favorite radios.
  • Lighting, and interior ambience, refer to the “Ergonomics and Comfort” section.
  • Navigation history, favorite points of interest (POI), navigation settings.

  • To delete a profile, select it in the profile list then press the recycle bin.

Privacy Settings

  • The “Privacy Settings” management is associated with each profile, this function is used with a “Guest” profile configured by default in “Private Mode”,  or a profile to be created in the system, with or without connection to a mobile device. If there is no connection with a nomadic device, the mode value will be configured in “Private Mode”. The connected nomadic device serves as an access key to personal information. Activate the function first Bluetooth ® mobile device, the last saved mode value will be restored.

Internet portal

  • During the first use, when purchasing the vehicle, the user is asked to select the country of residence for using the Internet portal. If the country is not selected, the notification is stored in the notification center and disappears after the country is selected.   • On first use, via a connected nomadic device, the system makes the link with your profile. The connected nomadic device serves as an access key to stored personal information. This authentication will be saved for future uses via the mobile device connected to the current profile. Authentication will be requested for each use if the mobile device is not connected to the current profile or if the Guest profile is used.

Perform a system update

  • The system is able to notify the receipt of an update when it is connected to an external Wi-Fi network or a 3G / 4G telecom network.Downloading large updates is only done over the Wi-Fi network. The availability of an update is notified on the screen at the end of the trip with an option of immediate installation or postponement of installation. The installation time is variable and can take several minutes with a maximum of around 30 minutes. A notification will give an estimate oft he duration and a description of the update. The update information is available through the “Settings” application.

  • (depending on equipment) The voice recognition service offers a choice of at least 17 languages (French, German, English (UK), English (US), Arabic, Brazilian, Chinese, Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Turkish) available with the cellular network and incorrespondence with the language chosen and configured in advance in the system. The system embeds two languages for cases where the area in which the vehicle is traveling is not covered by the cellular network. These so-called embedded languages are downloaded into the system.If the chosen language has not been downloaded, an on-screen message appears from the first case of no connection to the cellular network t o suggest its download. To use this new language in all zones, download it first (ignition on without starting the engine) via the Wi-Fi network. Apply the download procedure displayed on the screen. Downloading this new language removes the least used onboard language.

  • When voice commands are activated, say your command after the beep. For orders in several stages, an exchange is made with the system to complete the initial request. Some commands are self-validating after 7 seconds. If the system has not taken your command into account, it indicates this by a voice message and a display on the screen.

Open voice recognition

  • For optimal operation, it is advisable to close the windows and the sunroof (depending on the equipment) to avoid any external disturbance and to stop the ventilation.
  • Before speaking the voice commands, ask the other passengers not to speak.

Connecting a wired device via USB

  • Connecting a portable device via USB allows it to be recharged. It makes it possible to provide the system with its authorized media content  (Media content such as iPod ®).

  • A single USB socket allows the Mirror Screen connection (Apple ® CarPlay ® or Android Auto) for connected mobile devices that are compatible and to benefit from certain device applications on the touch screen.For more information on the USB socket compatible with the Mirror Screen function ® see the “Front fittings” section. The portable device is in charging mode when connecting with the USB cable.

  • It is recommended to use the official USB cables of your devices, favoring a minimum cable length to ensure optimal
    performance.

  • In order to preserve the system, do not use a USB splitter.

Bluetooth connection

  • Bluetooth connection ® from a nomadic device to the vehicle system provides access to its content and its “Media” broadcasts. It also allows the activation of the “Phone” function. Connection can be initiated either from the Bluetooth menu ® of the mobile device, or from the vehicle system requiring for the first connection, the opening of the “My Devices” menu.
  • Some features may not be supported by your device. To find out the partial or complete compatibility of device or smartphone models, connect to the brand’s Internet address in the country.
  • Pairing procedure from a device
  • From the Bluetooth menu ® of your nomadic device, select the name of the system in the list of devices detected.
  • In order to make Bluetooth visible ® on your system, first open on the system, the menu ” My Devices “. Continue the first connection route offered by the system and on the device.

  • Select the name of the mobile device to connect from:

  • A mobile device already connected to the system will be able to reconnect automatically when the vehicle is started as soon as the user profile has been chosen. Automatic reconnection is suspended as soon as the “My Devices” menu is opened. This in order to allow the system to make its Bluetooth visible ® for connection of a new device. A disconnection takes place when the driver’s door is opened and the ignition off.

Automatic reconnection

  • The system allows automatic reconnection of devices already connected and detected as soon as a user profile is selected. The reconnected devices are in priority those which have been linked to the selected user profile or, failing that, the last connected devices.

WIFI connection

  • The system has two Wi-Fi connection modes:
  • An outdoor Wi-Fi connection mode to perform system updates.
  • A system Wi-Fi connection sharing mode to connect devices.

  • Activate / Deactivate the ” Wireless”. the system starts a search for surrounding Wi-Fi networks. This operation may take a few seconds.
  • Select the Wi-Fi network to connect and enter its password.
  • To ensure the protection of your system, only networks with a sufficient level of security are authorized for connection. WPA2encryption level, equivalent to a home level is required.
  • Any network already connected to the system will automatically reconnect as soon as it is detected by the system and after having previously activated the Wi-Fi function.
  • The system’s Wi-Fi connection to a device already connected in Mirror Screen ® wireless is not possible. In this case, use a Mirror Screen connection ® via the USB socket.

Wi-Fi connection sharing

  • Activate / Deactivate the ” Wireless”.
  • View the current password.
  • Generate a new password and a new name for the system’s Wi-Fi network.

  • Connecting a device to the system’s Wi-Fi network is not possible if it is already connected in Mirror Screen ® wireless, In this case, use a Mirror Screen connection ® via the USB socket

Device management

Remove a device

Apple smartphone connection ® CarPlay ®

  • Connecting a single Apple smartphone ® CarPlay ® can be done either by USB cable or wirelessly. Activate the CarPlay function beforehand ® on your Apple brand smartphone
  • Refer to the Apple website in the event of a device connection failure to assess the device’s compatibility with this function.
  • Connect the smartphone to the system via the Mirror Screen compatible USB socket. The launch of Apple ® CarPlay ® is performed automatically a few seconds after the USB connection is established. In some cases, it may require you to unlock your device. The smartphone is in charge mode when it is connected by the USB cable.
  • A single USB socket allows the Mirror Screen connection ® ( Apple ® CarPlay ®), see the “Front fittings” section. It is recommended to use the official USB cables of the devices, favoring a minimum cable length to ensure optimal performance.
  • Wireless connection of an Apple device ® CarPlay ® can be initialized from the menu ” My Devices “. Activate the Bluetooth function beforehand ® on the smartphone.
  • Press the application ” Settings “. In the list, select the ” Connectivity “.
  • To select ” My Devices ” to display the device to connect to Apple ® CarPlay ®. If the device has already been connected to the system via Bluetooth ®, select the device settings in the list of known devices and choose Apple ® CarPlay ® as a wireless connection mode. If the device has never been connected to the system, proceed with its pairing, refer to the section”Bluetooth connection ® “.
