Product Usage Instructions
Advise on maintaining stainless steel for aquatic applications
- Make an initial strict visual inspection to detect the possible appearance of oxidation by external chemical agents that have not initially been detected.
- Strict compliance with periodic cleaning of accessories, starting with a weekly clean, to fit the optimal time interval, always avoiding the formation of dry residue deposits (salts or other solids).
- For manual or shock dosages, do not do this near stainless steel parts, preventing splashing or concentrations.
- Avoid deposits of substances on metal parts, such as salts, dust, dirt, etc.
- Avoid contact with other metal parts or materials, especially iron, concrete adhesions, etc.
- Clean accessories with tap water, or if small rust stains or deposits are seen, clean with non-abrasive metal cleaner, or with diluted nitric acid at 10- 15%; in both cases, rinse with fresh water and dry carefully with a cotton cloth.
- Pay special attention to interstitial areas, (e.g. step anchors), and the effects of the water flotation line on stainless steel accessories.
- If salts are added or an electrolysis system is used, maintain strict control of the quantity of dissolved salts in water and the stability of the equipment.
- Ensure control of pH, disinfectant, and the correct use of bactericide.
- Carry out daily water recirculation to prevent the formation of deposits on submerged accessories.
- Ensure proper daily air recirculation by dehumidifying equipment to control the formation of condensation in the environment. In installations where there are podiums installed, special attention must be paid to cleaning the bottom of them, to prevent accumulated condensation.
- Make at least one annual stop for the preventive or corrective maintenance of accessories and the installation in general.
- Remember that a fundamental premise of maintaining stainless steel is that the smoother and cleaner a surface area is, the more stable the rust resistance.
