TIMEX 02403 Stopwatch User Guide

WARNING

  • Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and keep away from children. Do NOT dispose of batteries in household trash or incinerate.
  • Even used batteries may cause severe injury or death.
  • Call a local poison control center for treatment information.
  • Battery type: lithium metal, CR2032.
  • Nominal battery voltage: 3.0 V
  • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
  • Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above 158°F (70ºC) or incinerate. Doing so may result in injury due to venting, leakage or explosion resulting in chemical burns.
  • Ensure the batteries are installed correctly according to polarity (+ and -).
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types of batteries, such as alkaline, carbon zinc, or rechargeable batteries.
  • Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of batteries from equipment not used for an extended period of time according to local regulations.
  • Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and keep them away from children.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS

  1. To prevent risk of fire, chemical burn, electrolyte leak, and/or injury from the unit’s internal Lithium-polymer battery:
    a. Do not attempt to remove the case-back or exterior shell of the unit, or to remove its non-user-replaceable battery.
    b. Do not leave the unit exposed to a heat source or in a high-temperature location (such as in the sun or in an unattended vehicle). To prevent damage, store the unit out of direct sunlight.
    c. Do not puncture or incinerate the unit.
    d. When storing the unit for an extended time, keep it in the 32 to 77°F (0 to 25°C) temperature range.
    e. The watch button cell or coin battery is not intended to be replaced by a consumer. Only a jeweler or other professional is to replace the battery.
    f. Do not operate the unit outside the -4 to 131°F (-20 to 55°C) temperature range.
    g. Contact your local waste disposal department to properly recycle or dispose of the unit or its battery.

  2. This unit is not a medical device and is not recommended for use by persons with serious heart conditions. Always consult your physician before beginning or modifying an exercise program.

  3. Do not attempt to read the unit’s display while moving: this is unsafe and distracting, and could result in an accident or collision. Read the display only when you can safely do so. See the instructions for details.

INTRODUCING THE STOPWATCH
The Timex Ironman Stopwatch operates through its control buttons, mode-based interface and segmented LCD display.

STOPWATCH MODES
Mode Selection
Press the MODE button to change Stopwatch modes in the following sequence:
Time Mode – Stopwatch Mode – Data Mode – Countdown Mode – Alarm Mode – Dual Time Mode

Time Mode
Setting Time Mode

  1. Press the MODE button until TIME is displayed.
  2. Press and hold the STOP/RESET button until Seconds are flashing.
  3. Press START/LAP to reset Seconds.
  4. Press MODE to set Hours.
  5. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to set Minutes, Year, Month, Date, 12/24 Hour format.
  7. Press STOP/RESET to exit the settings state.

Calendar Mode
When in Time Mode, press and hold the START/LAP button to display: MONTH, DATE, YEAR.

Stopwatch Mode
Your Timex Ironman Stopwatch supports 150 Laps, 1/100 second units and has a measuring range of 00:00’00” – 9:59’59”.

  1. Press the MODE button until Chro is displayed.
    a. Display will show STP once you’ve accessed the Chro mode.

  2. Press the START/LAP button to start the stopwatch timer.

  3. Press the STOP/RESET button to stop the stopwatch timer.

  4. To reset the stopwatch timer, press the STOP/RESET button.

Split Timing in Stopwatch Mode

  1. Press the MODE button until Chro is displayed.
    a. Display will show STP once you’ve accessed the Chro mode.

  2. Press the START/LAP button to start the stopwatch timer.

  3. Press the START/LAP button to trigger a split/lap.
    a. SPLIT time will display for 2 seconds.

  4. Repeat step 3 until the timing is complete.

  5. Press STOP/RESET to stop the stopwatch timer.

Data Mode
Access the most recent Lap and Split data, up to 150 laps.

  1. Press the MODE button until DATA is displayed.

  2. Stopwatch timing data can be viewed by LAP time or SPLIT time.
    a. To view LAP times, press the START/LAP button and each individual LAP time will be displayed.
    b. To view SPLIT times, press the STOP/RESET button and each SPLIT time will be displayed.

  3. To resume the stopwatch timer, press the STOP/RESET button.

Countdown Mode
Your Timex Ironman Stopwatch has a countdown range of 23:59’59” – 0:00’00”.

Setting the Countdown Timer

  1. Press the MODE button until Tmr is displayed.
  2. Press and hold the STOP/RESET button until Hours are flashing.
  3. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  4. Press the MODE button to change to the next selection (minutes).
  5. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  6. Press the MODE button to change to the next selection (seconds).
  7. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  8. Press STOP/RESET to exit the setting state.

Using the Countdown Timer

  1. Press the MODE button until Tmr is displayed.
  2. Press the START/LAP button to start the countdown timer.
  3. Press the STOP/RESET button to pause the countdown timer.
  4. When the countdown timer reaches zero, the alarm sounds for 60 seconds.
    Press any button to stop the alarm.

Alarm Mode
Your stopwatch supports up to five alarms and has an hourly chime function.
The alarm sounds at the pre-set time each day for about 60 seconds. Press any button to stop the alarm.

  1. Press the MODE button until AL is displayed.
  2. Press the START/LAP button to turn on/off the Chime (audible alerts).
  3. Press the STOP/RESET button to access the AL-1 settings.
  4. Press the START/LAP button to turn on/off the Alarm.
  5. Press and hold the STOP/RESET button until Hours are flashing.
  6. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  7. Press the MODE button to change to the next selection (minutes).
  8. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  9. Press STOP/RESET to exit the set state.
  10. Follow steps 2-8 to set Alarms 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Dual Time Mode

  1. Press the MODE button until DT is displayed.
  2. Press and hold STOP/RESET until Hours are flashing.
  3. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  4. Press the MODE button to change to the next selection (minutes).
  5. Press START/LAP to increase the number. Press and hold START/LAP to increase at high speed.
  6. Press STOP/RESET to exit the set state.
