Danfoss DEVIcrimp Repair Set Installation Guide

Fitting set

18055240 DEVIheat Contents

4 pcs. rivets.
2 pcs. Kynar 4/1.6, 25 mm – transparent.
1 pc. cold tail type DSWB-10, 500 mm.
2 pcs. Shrink tube – 8/2, 100 mm – medium.
2 pcs. Shrink tube – 4/1, 35 mm – small.

WARNING!
Please note that repairing the heating mat may result in a changed output.
Consequently, do not repair across cable loops.

Repair of DEVIheat is made by cutting away the defect piece of DEVIheat heating cable EN and replacing it with a piece of DSWB-10. Therefore, the following connection process must be carried out twice.

Stripping lengths for DEVIheat-DSWB

DEVIheat:

Strip the sheath 25 mm.
Release the screen and twist it.
Strip the heat conductor 15 mm.
Bend the heat conductor 7 mm.

DSWB:

Strip the sheath 20 mm.
Release the screen and twist it.
Strip the conductor 7 mm.

Connection instructions

Push a medium shrink tube – 4/1, 35 mm – and a transparent shrink tube – Kynar 4/1.6, 25 mm – over the DEVIheat heating cable.
Medium shrink tube – 8/2, 100 mm is pushed over the DSWB cable.
Heat conductors and conductors are riveted together.
Push a transparent shrink tube – Kynar 4/1.6, 25 mm – over the rivet and shrink it with a hot air blower.
Push a small shrink tube – 4/1, 35 mm – over the connection, centre it over the rivet and heat it from the middle towards the ends.
Shorten the twisted screens so they just reach each other.
Rivet the screens.
Push a medium shrink tube – 8/2, 100 mm – over the connection, centre it and heat it from the middle towards the ends.
The connection has now been completed.
Make the same connection between the DSWB cable and the other cut off DEVIheat cable end.

Warranty

A 2-year product warranty is valid for:

Should you, against all expectations, experience a problem with your DEVI product, you will and that Danfoss offers Devi warranty valid from the date of purchase on the following conditions: During the warranty period Danfoss shall offer a new comparable product or repair the product if the product is found to be faulty by reason of defective design, materials or workmanship. The repair or replacement.

The decision to either repair or replace will be solely at the discretion of Danfoss. Danfoss shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages including, but not limited to, damages to property or extra utility expenses. No extension of the warranty period following repairs undertaken is granted.

The warranty shall be valid only if the WARRANTY CERTIFICATE is completed correctly and in accordance with the instructions, the fault is submitted to the installer or the seller without undue delay and proof of purchase is provided. Please note that the WARRANTY CERTIFICATE must be filled in, stamped and signed by the authorised installer performing the installation (Installation date must be indicated).
After the installation is performed, store and keep the WARRANTY CERTIFICATE and purchase documents (invoice, receipt or similar) during the whole warranty period.

Devi warranty shall not cover any damage caused by incorrect conditions of use, incorrect installation or if installation has been carried out by non- authorised electricians. All work will be invoiced in full if Danfoss is required to inspect or repair faults that have arisen as a result of any of the above. The Devi warranty shall not extend to products which have not been paid in full. Danfoss will, at all times, provide a rapid and effective response to all complaints and inquiries from our customers.

The warranty explicitly excludes all claims exceeding the above conditions.
