Parts identification
CAUTION
- To prevent motor damage, remove the pencil from the pencil opening once the point is sharpened.
- Refrain from inserting hard materials such as pens, chalk, crayons, or soft coloring pencils which will damage or clog the cutter blades.
- If the motor should overheat, a safety device (thermal switch) will operate to protect the motor from damage. If this should occur, unplug the power cord and let the unit cool for approximately an hour. During this time the thermal switch will cool and reset automatically.
- The cabinet can be cleaned with a dampened cloth and mild soap solution. (Do not use scouring powder, benzine, gasoline, or thinner.)
To Empty the Shavings Receptacle :
- Unplug the Unit from the wall outlet.
- Hold the Unit over the waste basket and remove the shavings receptacle.
- Empty the receptacle into the waste basket and gently shake excess shavings from the Unit into the basket.
- Place the Unit on a horizontal surface. Slide empty shavings receptacle back into Unit.
- Slide empty shavings receptacle back into Unit.
- Reconnect the power cord.
Note:
When the shavings receptacle is removed, the pencil sharpener will not
operate. Please insert the receptacle before use.
Directions for Use :
- Insert the AC plug into any standard l20V AC outlet.
- Simply insert the pencil into the opening. The Unit starts sharpening immediately. Keep the pencil inserted straight to avoid uneven sharpening.
- At the end of the sharpening cycle, the “AUTO STOP” feature will operate automatically stopping the cutter blades.
- Pull out the pencil at the end of the sharpening cycle.
- For smooth trouble-free operation, empty shavings receptacle frequently.
Note:
Pencils with uncentered lead will not sharpen evenly.
Treat plastic receptacle with care, peg must be intact to engage the motor.
