Product Usage Instructions

Professional Installation
This device must be professionally installed by Copeland technicians before shipping CloudGate devices to customers.

Module Integration
The CGTX Card module requires a host device for regulated input voltage. Ensure the host device has an input voltage of 9-33 V. Follow Figure 1 for installing the CGTX card in the host device.

RF Exposure Compliance
Ensure the modular transmitter is installed at least 20 cm away from users or nearby persons. The device is designed for use exclusively in Opon CloudGate IoT devices.

Labeling
The host device must have a label indicating FCC ID WPEPSASII-04 and IC PSAII04. The model number should be PSAII-04.

FAQ

  • Q: Can I purchase the CGTX Card directly as an end user?
A: No, the CGTX Card is not sold directly to end users. It is installed by Copeland technicians in CloudGate devices before shipping to customers.

  • Q: What type of antenna should I use with the module?
A: Use the Nearson 900 MHz ISM band straight antenna model 463 with a gain of 2 dBi and an impedance of 50 ohms.

  • Q: How do I ensure RF exposure compliance?
A: Install the module at least 20 cm away from users or nearby persons as specified in the manual.

Introduction

The CGTX Card is a 900 MHz transceiver module that is designed to be installed in a host, an Internet of Things (IoT) device made by Option called a CloudGate. This module is not sold to end users directly. Instead, it is installed by Copeland technicians before shipping CloudGate devices to customers.

Module Integration

The module relies on the host device for regulated input voltage. The current specifications for the host device call for an input voltage of 9-33 V. Figure 1 shows the CGTX card module being inserted into the host device.

RF Exposure:
The modular transmitter is authorized to be used in a specific type of host platform and installed such that it cannot be operated at closer than 20 cm to users or nearby persons. The modular transmiter is designed to be used exclusively in Option CloudGate IoT devices. Every new host configuration will require an FCC Class II Permissive Change to be filed by the Grantee (Copeland Cold Chain LP). See KDB Publication 447498 for RF exposure compliance guidance.

Labeling:
The host device shall have a label that indicates the device contains FCC ID WPEPSASII-04 and contains IC PSAII04.

Antenna

The module itself has a PCB board antenna but it has been disabled for this application. The module is designed to be used with an external antenna that attaches to an SMA connector on the board. The external antenna certified for use with this module is the Nearson 900 MHz ISM band straight antenna model 463. It has a gain of 2 dBi and an impedance of 50 ohms.

Section 15.203 Compliance:
Our CGTX card is designed for industrial and commercial use only. They are not available to the public for sale. They can only be purchased directly from Copeland Cold Chain LP or through authorized dealers. They are not available from any public retail outlet.
When installed in a host CloudGate, the device is designed to wirelessly read devices known as loggers that are inside commercial cargo shipments. The host CloudGate along with the internal CGTX card are installed near shipping docks of large commercial distribution centers, or DCs. These DCs are not open to the public.

The only antenna that may be connected to the module is the Nearson 900 MHz 2 dBi model listed in the Antenna section of this document.

Powering the Module:
The CGTX card module was not tested standalone since it is dependent on host configuration for regulated power. AC conducted test will be required in any new host that connects to AC power lines.
