Introduction

The AMP150.1H, AMP300.1H and AMP500.1H are compact, powerful high-voltage Class D amplifiers. They deliver 150W, 300W and 500W respectively on a 70V or 100V line. They feature volume control and LED indicators (signal, clip and protection). Input and output connections are equipped with Euroblock connectors.

Device presentation

  1. Power switch
Switches the amplifier on and off. When the amplifier is on, the VOL potentiometer LED is lit.

  2. Volume control knob
This potentiometer adjusts the input signal level.

  3. Indicator LEDs
These LEDs give an indication of the amplifier’s status:

    • SIGNAL : Indicates that a signal is present at the power stage input.

    • CLIP : Indicates that the current signal level is too high.

    • PROTECT : Indicates that the amplifier is in protection mode due to overheating or short-circuit.
      Notes:

    • It is normal for the PROTECT LED to light up for a few seconds when the amplifier is switched on.

    • If the PROTECT LED remains lit, switch off the amplifier, wait for it to cool down and check the wiring.

    • If on power-up it remains lit even though the amplifier is not warm and all the wiring is correct, consult a specialist technician.

  4. INPUT / LINK
Connect line-level signals to the INPUT input. Input signals can be either balanced or unbalanced. The LINK terminal allows the input signal to be reinjected into another amplifier.

  5. Output voltage selector switch
This selector allows you to choose the output voltage between 70 V and 100 V. Only the right-hand dipswitch is active, the left-hand one is not connected (NC).

  6. Output terminals
Connect your speakers to these terminals. The two terminals are wired in parallel.

  7. Power supply input with fuse
Connect the IEC cord supplied to this input, and after checking the voltage supplied, connect it to the mains. If necessary, replace the fuse with one of the same type and rating.

Application

Use high-quality cables to connect your speakers. To avoid short-circuits, check that the cable strands are correctly twisted before connecting them to the output terminals. When connecting your loudspeakers to the amplifier, be sure to observe the correct polarity. Connect transformer-equipped speakers to the + and – output terminals. The two outputs are wired in parallel. Take care to distribute the connected loudspeakers so that the sum of the powers of all the loudspeakers does not exceed the maximum power of the amplifier.

Below is a table showing the correspondence between amplifier/loudspeaker distance and cable cross-section, to avoid any deterioration in signal quality.

Maximum 100 V line length

Power| Minimum impedance| Installed cable cross-section
1,5 mm²| 2,5 mm²
150 W| 67 Ω| 800 m| 1300 m
300 W| 33.5 Ω| 400 m| 700 m
500 W| 20 Ω| 180 m| 350 m
