Prepare the remote control
· The provided remote control allows the unit to be operated from a distance.
· Even if the remote control is operated within the effective range 19.7 feet
(6m), remote control operation may be impossible if there are any obstacles
between the unit and the remote control.
· If the remote control is operated near other products which generate
infrared rays, or if other remote control devices using infra-red rays are
used near the unit, it may operate incorrectly. Conversely, the other products
may operate incorrectly.
Replace the remote control battery
Slide to remove the battery compartment cover, insert 2 AAA batteries (1.5V)
with correct polarity, then slide the battery compartment cover back into
position. · Make sure the (+) and () ends of the
batteries match the (+) and () ends indicated in the battery compartment.
Precautions concerning batteries
· Be sure to insert the batteries with correct positive ” + ” and negative ” –
” polarities.
· Use batteries of the same type. Never use different types of batteries
together.
· Either rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries can be used. Refer to the
precautions on their labels.
· Be aware of your ngernails when removing the battery cover and the battery.
· Do not drop the remote control. · Do not allow anything to impact the
remote control. · Do not spill water or any liquid on the
remote control.
· Do not place the remote control on a wet object.
· Do not place the remote control under direct sunlight or near sources of

· Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for a long period

Connect power
Caution
Risk of product damage! Make sure that the power supply voltage corresponds to
the voltage printed on the back or the underside of the product. Risk of
electric shock! When you unplug the power cord, always pull the plug from the
socket. Never pull the cord.
Note
Before connecting to AC power, make sure that you have completed all other
connections.
Connect the AC power cord to the AC in socket on the rear panel of the unit.
Then plug the other end of the AC power cord into a power outlet.

Charge the built-in battery
Plug the AC power cord to charge the built-in battery. The charging signal on
the display screen indicates the charging status.

When the speaker is turned on and not being charged, the battery signal on the
display screen indicates the battery level.

4 Play audio through Bluetooth
Play from Bluetooth device
1 Press or button on the unit to switch to Bluetooth mode. You can see “bt”
text display on the screen and the “bt” blinks.
2 On the Bluetooth device, switch on Bluetooth, search for and select [Philips
TAX4209] to start connection. You will hear the prompt sound when the
connection is successful. The screen stops blink.
3 After successful connection, play audio on the Bluetooth device.
4 Long press button for 3 sec, the speaker will disconnect with the Bluetooth
device. You can see the display screen blinks “bt”and you will hear the prompt
sound.
5 To exit Bluetooth, press to switch to another source.
5 Play from USB or TF card
Play from a USB or TF card storage device
1 Insert the USB or TF device into the USB or TF socket, and the unit switches
automatically to USB or TF play mode.

Note
Before pairing a device with this product, read its user manual for Bluetooth
compatibility. Any obstacle between this product and a Bluetooth device can
reduce the operational range. Keep away from any other electronic device that
may cause interference. The operational range between this product and a
Bluetooth device is approximately 10 meters (30 feet). Before connecting
another Bluetooth device, disconnect the current device rstly. When the
Bluetooth device is beyond the valid Bluetooth distance, the unit will
disconnect automatically from the device and enter Bluetooth paring mode.

Turn on FM radio
Press button to select FM mode until the display shows the FM frequency.
Automatically scan
Long pressing button for 3 sec, and the speaker will automatically search for
FM channels. After searching nished, the searched channels will be saved
automatically and the rst saved channel will be broadcast.
7 DBB effect
Turn the speaker on and play audio, press the DBB button on top panel to
change the speaker bass effect: DBB/ DBB off.
Note
The speaker bass effect is set to DBB off by default.
8 Record function
The speaker can record your microphone or guitar audio to USB or TF device. Please note that recording is only enabled when a USB or TF device and a microphone or guitar is attached. To begin recording, the speaker can be in either AUX, USB, TF or FM mode.

speaker will create a directory called ” Record” in which your recordings will
be put. The record function is not available in BT mode.

9 TWS Function
Note
· TWS works only if there are two identical party speakers (Philips TAX4209).
Pairing for stereo mode (TWS)
1 Turn the two speakers on and they will enter Bluetooth mode automatically.
You can see “bt” text blinking on the screen.
2 Press and hold button on either speaker for 3 sec. Then both speakers enter
stereo pairing mode (TWS). You can hear the prompt sound from the primary
speakers.
3 When TWS is connected, the primary speaker displays “bt” and the secondary
speaker displays “sec”. You will hear the prompt sound from both speakers.
4 To exit TWS, long press for 3 seconds on either speaker. You will hear the
prompt sound from both speakers. Then both speakers exit TWS mode and return
to Bluetooth mode.

10 Other features
Play music from an external device
1 Select AUX mode: Press button until the screen displays “AUX” text.
2 Connect an audio cable (not supplied) with the connector on the device: The
AUX socket on the speaker. The headphone jack on the device (MP3 player,
cellphone, iPad, or other audio players).
3 Play audio on the device (refer to its user manual).
11 Sing through microphone
Adjust microphone volume
Connect a microphone (not supplied) into the Mic 1 /Mic 2 jack of the unit,
and adjust the microphone volume by rotating the Mic vol knob.
Adjust echo
Adjust the microphone echo level to your desired level by rotating the Echo
knob on the top panel.

Adjust guitar volume
Connect a guitar to this party speaker directly through the Guitar in jack on
the top panel. 1 Use a 6.3mm (1/4″) guitar connector
(not supplied) to connect your guitar to the Guitar in jack.
2 The volume of your connected guitar can be controlled by the Guitar vol knob
on the top panel.
Change the speaker light

Press the button on the top panel to change the speaker light mode: Light mode

Caution
Never remove the casing of this unit.
To keep the Warranty valid, never try to repair the system yourseIf. If you
encounter problems when using this unit, check the following points before
requesting service. If the problem remains unsolved, go to the Philips website
(www.philips.com/support). When you contact Philips, ensure that your unit is
nearby and the model number and serial number are available.
No power · Ensure that the unit is fully charged or
connected with a power source. · Ensure that all the required cables are
securely
connected. · Ensure that the unit is switched on. · To save power, the unit
switches to standby
automatically 15 minutes after a play reaches the end and no control is
operated.
No sound · Adjust the volume.
No response from the unit · Disconect and reconnect the AC power plug,
then turn on the unit again.
Cannot play some les in USB device The number of folders or les in the USB
device has exceeded a certain limit. This phenomenon is not a malfunction. The
formats of these les are not supported.
USB device not supported The USB device is incompatible with the unit. Try
another one.
About Bluetooth device
The audio quality is poor after connection with a Bluetooth-enabled device
The Bluetooth reception is poor. Move the device closer to this product or
remove any obstacle between them.
Cannot connect with the device The Bluetooth function of the device is not
enabled. Refer to the user manual of the device for how to enable the
function. This product is already connected with another Bluetooth-enabled
device. Disconnect that device and then try again.
The paired device connects and disconnects constantly
The Bluetooth reception is poor. Move the device closer to this product or
remove any obstacle between them.

Disposal of your old product and battery
Your product is designed and manufactured with high quality materials and
components which can be recycled and reused.
This symbol on a product means that theproduct is covered by European
Directive 2012/19/EU.
This symbol means that the product contains batteries covered by European
Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 which cannot be disposed of with normal household
waste. Inform yourself about the local separate collection system for
electrical and electronic products and batteries. Follow local rules and never
dispose of the product and batteries with normal household waste. Correct
disposal of old products and batteries helps prevent negative consequences for
the environment and human health.
Removing the disposable batteries To remove the disposable batteries, see
battery installation section.
Environmental information Your system consists of materials which can be
recycled and reused if disassembled by a specialized company. Please observe
the local regulations regarding the disposal of packaging materials, exhausted
batteries and old equipment.
