The following instructions will take you through all the steps necessary to get your Breezeline WiFi Your Way™ Home up and running.
Before you begin
Follow these important steps to ensure a successful installation of WiFi Your Way™ Home.
- Confirm your Breezeline gateway is installed and online. Visit breezeline.com/self-install-gateway for helpful gateway installation directions.
- Confirm your mobile device is connected to your gateway WiFi using the network name and password located on the label on your gateway.
- Take a picture of the label located on your extender or write down the unique identifying number:
- 10-digit plug-in Pod Serial number: ___
- 12-digit wired Extender MAC Address: ____
- Download the “WiFi Your Way™ Home” mobile app from your device’s app store.
- Open the app and tap “New Setup” on iOS devices (or “Set up HomePass” on Android), enter your name and a valid email address, click next and follow the on-screen instructions to validate your email address.
Extender Installation
- Connect one of your extenders to your modem/gateway with the provided ethernet cord. If you are using the port labeled 2.5G WAN on your gateway, please ensure the other end is plugged into the corresponding 2.5G port on your extender. If your device has a power cord, plug one side into the back of the extender and the other side into a power outlet. If not, plug your pod directly into a wall outlet.
- Next, identify the optimal location for your 2nd WiFi extender to maximize coverage. Select a location away from your gateway and not too close to large furniture, mirrors, glass, or metal.
- Restart your modem/gateway and ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
- Set up your WiFi network name and password in the WiFi Your Way™ Home app.
- We recommend using your current WiFi network name and password to ensure a seamless transition for connecting devices.
- If you prefer to create a completely new WiFi network name and password, you will need to reconnect your WiFi devices to the new WiFi network after the installation is complete.
- FINAL IMPORTANT STEP! Activate your network by visiting breezeline.com/activatewifi to input your extender information (noted earlier). Once you have clicked “Activate My WiFi”, your gateway will reboot one more time and you’re done!
PRO INSTALLATION TIPS:
- Enable app notifications
- Your first extender must stay connected to your modem/gateway
- WiFi Extender Placement
- Each extender will cover 2-4 rooms
- Plug your WiFi extenders into interior wall outlets
- Place extenders far away from your gateway to extend WiFi coverage
- Set up profiles for family members to manage their WiFi access.
