Instructions for Play

Getting Started

To turn on My Own Leaptop™, slide the Off/Low/High switch to one of the two volumes.

Note: My Own Leaptop™ will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity. You can wake it up again by pressing any button.

How to Personalize My Own Leaptop™

  • First, turn My Own Leaptop™ off. Next, hold down the “P” and “M” buttons while selecting one of the two volumes. Then follow the instructions given by My Own Leaptop™.

Learning Modes

ABC MODE

  • Slide the switch to the Alphabet Mode icon to introduce letters and phonics.
  • Press a letter to hear the letter name, sound, and a word that uses the letter.

MESSAGE MODE

  • Slide the switch to the Message Mode icon to see and hear emails from Scout or Violet.

GAME MODE

  • Slide the switch to the Game Mode icon to play fun animal trivia and letter games.

MUSIC MODE

  • Slide the switch to the Music Mode to listen to songs and melodies and to watch Scout/Violet dance.

Instructions for Care

FOR DRY, INDOOR USE ONLY

Keep food and beverages away from product. Never spill liquid of any kind on this product as it may cause damage or render the device inoperative. Clean with a slightly damp cloth (cold water). Do not use soap or detergent. Never submerge the unit in water. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Avoid dropping the unit. Never try to dismantle it.

Battery Information

  • Batteries included are for in-store demonstration and should be replaced for home use.
  • Requires 3 AA (called LR6 in some countries) alkaline batteries.

Battery Removal and Installation Instructions

  1. Open the battery door with a Phillips screwdriver.
  2. If used or spent batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each battery.
  3. Install new batteries as shown in the polarity (+/-) diagram inside the battery compartment.
  4. Replace battery door securely.

Battery Safety

Batteries are small objects and may pose a choking hazard for small children. Batteries must be replaced by an adult. Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment. Promptly remove dead batteries from the toy to avoid leaking. Dispose of used batteries properly. Remove batteries for prolonged storage. Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.

  • DO NOT incinerate used batteries.
  • DO NOT dispose of batteries in fi re, as batteries may explode or leak.
  • DO NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (e.g., alkaline/standard). DO NOT use rechargeable batteries.
  • DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • DO NOT short-circuit the supply terminals.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom

  • Toy does not turn on or does not respond
  • Toy makes improper responses

Try This

  • Make sure the mode switch is not in the OFF position
  • Make sure batteries are correctly installed
  • Make sure battery cover is securely attached
  • Remove batteries, wait 10 seconds and put them back in
  • Clean battery contacts by rubbing lightly with a soft eraser and then wiping with a clean and dry cloth
  • Install new batteries
  • Follow the above instructions to clean battery contacts
  • Install new batteries
