Description of Parts – Accessories

Assembling Your Vacuum Cleaner
CAUTION Ensure that the vacuum cleaner is not connected to the mains supply before using the attachments.

Attaching the Flexible Hose (13) to the Vacuum
Attach the Flexible Hose (13) to the vacuum cleaner by pushing the Hose Connector (14) into the Air Intake (1) until it clicks home, arrowed below:

To remove the hose, press the catches on either side (arrowed below) of the Hose Connector (14) and pull the hose out of the Air Intake (1):

Attaching the Telescopic Tube (17) and Floor Tool (11)

  1. Push the Telescopic Tube (17) onto the Tool Connector (16) as shown below left:

  2. Extend the Telescopic Tube (17) to the desired length by pushing the catch down and extending.

  3. Attach the Floor Tool (11) to the other end as shown above.

Using Your Vacuum Cleaner

  1. Fully reel the Mains Cable and Plug (7) out of the vacuum cleaner, being careful not the pull the cable out beyond the red mark but after the yellow mark. DO NOT use the vacuum without pulling the cable all the way out.
  2. Insert the mains plug into the nearest socket.
  3.  Press the On/Off Switch (3) to power up the vacuum.
  • Left: Adjust the lever on the Floor Tool for carpeted or hard floors:
  • Up for carpets
  • Down for hard floors

Using the Crevice & Upholstery Multi Tool (12)
Attach the Crevice & Upholstery Multi Tool (12) onto the Telescopic Tube (17) to clean carpet edges, upholstered furniture and hard to get at areas:

  • Left: Attached the Crevice & Upholstery multi tool to clean carpet edges.
  • Right: Fold the brush down to clean hard-to-get areas and upholstery.

If the Telescopic Tube (17) is not required, the Crevice & Upholstery multi tool (12) or the Floor tool (11) can be attached directly to the Tool connector (16) on the end of the flexible hose, this useful whilst cleaning soft furnishings, stairs, etc. as below:

Right: Attach the Floor tool to the Hose to clean the stairs.

The vacuum power can be varied using the Air Control Valve (15) on Tool Connector (16).

Emptying the Dust Bag

WARNING! Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before emptying the dust bag or cleaning the filters.

  1. Once the Dust Bag Full Indicator (2 – above) turns red, the Dust Bag (18) will require emptying.
  2. To re move the bag, first lift the Dust Compartment Release Catch (10).
  3. Lift the Dust Compartment Cover (9) to reveal the Dust Bag (18) and Dust Bag Holder (20). Press the dust bag holder clip down as shown arrowed:
  4. Lift out the Dust Bag Holder (20) and Dust Bag (18) as shown below:
  • Hold the Dust Bag (18) over a dust bin.
  • Slide the Sealing Clip (19) off the bag, open the bag and allow the dirt to fall into the bin.
  • Once empty, fold the bag closed and slide the Sealing Clip (19) back in place.

Replacing the Dust Bag

  • Pull the bag retaining clip outwards as shown left (a.).
  • At the same time, slide the front of the Dust Bag (18) upwards (b.) out of the Dust Bag Holder (20). Responsibly dispose of the used dust bag.
  • Slide the front of the new Dust Bag (18) into the Dust Bag Holder (20) ensuring the retaining clip locks into place.
  • NOTE ensure that the Sealing Clip (19) from the end of the bag and the Dust Bag Holder (20) are retained.

WARNING! DO NOT continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the Dust Bag  Full Indicator (2) turns red as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.

Cleaning the Internal Filter
Whilst emptying the dust bag, slide out the dust compartment filter as shown in a., b. & c. below. Wash the filter in warm running water until clean. Allow the filter to dry thoroughly for 24 hours before replacing and reuse:

Cleaning the Rear Outlet Filter
Push the latch down on the Rear Air Outlet Filter & Cover (5) and remove as shown in d, e, & f below. Remove the filter and wash clean in warm running water ensuring it is thoroughly dry for 24 hours before replacing and reuse:

Care and Maintenance of Your Vacuum Cleaner

WARNING! Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.

  • Clean outside of the cleaner with a clean damp cloth. Never clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not submerge the cleaner in water or any other liquids.
  • Empty the dust bag as soon as the dust bag full indicator (2) turns red.
  • Wash the dust compartment and rear air outlet filters regularly – see table below.
  • Allow all the filters to thoroughly dry out for 24 hours before reassembly and use.
  • WARNING! DO NOT continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the dust bag full indicator (8) turns red as permanent damage may occur to the appliance. Recommended Cleaning Intervals

WARNING! Ensure the filters are cleaned periodically according to the table above, failure to clean the filters regularly will severely impair the performance and permanent damage may occur to the appliance and may invalidate your warranty.

Non-Wireable Mains Plug

If your appliance is supplied with a non-wireable plug fitted to the mains lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). Never use a plug with the fuse cover missing. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
If you need to remove the plug – DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS – and then cut it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of electric shock.
