Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the voice amplifier produce feedback or screeching and How do I reduce it?

You can reduce feedback or screeching by reducing the volume or moving the speaker Further from the microphone. Make sure the white line on the microphone tip is facing your mouth.

How long does the battery take to charge?

The typical battery charge time is 4-6 hours

My voice amplifier will not work or produce sound?

Check that your microphone is plugged into the correct port, your battery is charged, and the voice amplifier is turned on to an audible volume. If you continue to have problems please Contact TK Products, LLC for help.

Can you use it for singing like for a very small acoustic area.?

Yes but the quality might not be a perfect sound. Sometimes I find that it gets a bit fuzzy. If I don’t allow the plug to move from the speaker at all it is fine but if it twists a bit it can make a fuzzy sound. I use it to teach high school classes.

Does it interfere with the user’s hearing aid?

I am sorry I do not have hearing aids yet so I dont know if it interferes.

Does it have a volume control?

Yes, it does have volume control.

Has anyone tried different VB models to determine which has the best quality sound?

I’m not as concerned about distance as fidelity. I purchased the VB Voice Amplifier based on hearing a street corner evangelist using one. It was both clear to understand and loud enough to hear from a distance. I use it every week to conduct training in printing facilities throughout North America. Also the batteries lasts a long time. Much better than my “smart phone’s battery.

Is the charger 110-240 ?

It works in the U.S. it doesn’t look like it switches.

Can you use this with a pacemaker?

You might try to contact the manufacturer.

Is the amplifier able to work with a bluetooth transmitter and pair with with a bluetooth speaker or a bluetooth head headset?

No, the amplifier is not able to work with a Bluetooth transmitter or Bluetooth headset.

What type of batteries does the Voice Booster take?

No batteries. It comes with a charger.

Does it have a magnet in it?

Not for attachment but it seems to be a standard magnet driven speaker.

Does the charger sound like the voice from the scream movies?

Um, no. The charger makes no sound at all. At times, if something solid gets in front of the amplifier (like a folder or some papers) there will be feedback that can be pretty loud and “screamy.”

Does it have a magnet in it?

Not as far as I know, it has a plastic casing and I use it with clip (which breaks easily) or mostly with a strap around my shoulder

Would this work in the inside of a helmet?

There is a modest headset with microphone attache to speak into. The headset goes over your head ear to ear. If the helmet has a tight fitting band that goes around your head (as with a hardhat for example) it probably would not work.

Is the volume adjustable?’

The volume is adjustable. I’ve used the unit in my classroom at a lower volume as well as in the gymnasium at a higher volume. Both have good sound quality. You can also change how far the microphone is from your mouth to help with better control and less feedback.
