  3. Press the Start button.
  4. Wait for the oven to reach the set temperature before placing food inside. Close the oven door.
  5. (Optional) Enter the cooking time if required.
  6. The Cancel button can be used to stop the function during or after the cooking time.

Note: For more detailed instructions on specific functions, refer to the online Control Guide.

Using Your Range

WARNING: Before setting a control knob, always place filled cookware on the grate. Do not operate a burner using empty cookware or without cookware on the grate. Adjust the flame so that it does not extend beyond the edge of the pan to prevent fire hazards.
Make sure the burner has ignited by visually checking or listening for a clicking sound. If the burner fails to ignite, check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown household fuse. Ensure that the control knob is pressed completely down on the valve shaft. If the spark igniter still does not operate, contact a trained repair specialist.

To Set:

Turn off all controls when not cooking to prevent accidents.
Follow these steps:

  1. Push in and turn the knob counterclockwise to IGNITE. All surface burners will click, but only the burner with the control knob turned to IGNITE will produce a flame.
  2. Turn the knob to a desired heat setting between H and L or SIMMER.

Remember, when the range is in use, the entire cooktop area may become hot. Select the appropriate burner size for your cookware as recommended in the following chart:

Burner Size Recommended Use
Small Low-heat cooking, melting chocolate or butter
Medium Multipurpose burner
Large For large cookware
X-Large (most powerful) For large cookware, most powerful burner
Oval For longer dishes

Oven Vent

The oven vent releases hot air and moisture from the oven. It should never be blocked or covered as it affects air circulation, cooking, and cleaning results. Avoid placing plastics, paper, or other items near the oven vent that could melt or burn.

A. Oven vent

The oven light uses a 40 W halogen bulb. When replacing the bulb, make sure the oven and cooktop are cool, and the control knobs are in the Off position. Follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect power.
  2. Turn the glass bulb cover in the back of the oven counterclockwise to remove it.
  3. Remove the bulb from the socket.
  4. Replace the bulb, using tissue or wearing cotton gloves to handle it. Avoid touching the bulb with bare fingers to prevent damage or decrease its lifespan.
  5. Replace the bulb cover by turning it clockwise.
  6. Reconnect power.

IMPORTANT: Use only bulbs rated at 40 W or lower. Using higher-rated bulbs may cause damage or pose a safety risk.

Using Your Range WARNING

  • Fire Hazard
  • Do not let the burner flame extend beyond the edge of the pan.
  • Turn off all controls when not cooking.
  • Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or fire.
  • Electric igniters automatically light the surface burners when control knobs are turned to IGNITE.
  • REMEMBER: When range is in use, the entire cooktop area may become hot.

ALUMINUM FOIL

  • IMPORTANT: To avoid permanent damage to the oven bottom finish, do not line the oven bottom with any type of foil or liner.
  • For best cooking results, do not cover entire oven rack with foil because air must be able to move freely.

POSITIONING RACKS AND BAKEWARE

  • IMPORTANT: To avoid permanent damage to the porcelain finish, do not place food or bakeware directly on the oven door or bottom.

Racks

  • Position racks before turning on the oven.
  • Do not position racks with bakeware on them.
  • Make sure racks are level.
  • To position a rack, pull it out to the stop position, raise the front edge, and then lift out. Use the following illustrations as a guide.
  • For hamburger patties to have a well-seared exterior and a rare interior, use a flat rack in rack position 7. Side 1 should cook for approximately 21/2 to 31/2 minutes. Side 2 should cook for approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Expect a moderate degree of smoke when broiling.

BAKING COOKIES AND LAYER CAKES ON TWO RACKS

Baking Layer Cakes

  • For best results when baking cakes on 2 racks, use the Convection Bake function, a flat rack in rack position 2 and a Max Capacity Oven rack in rack position 6. Place the cakes on the racks as shown. Keep at least 3″ (7.6 cm) of space between the front of the racks and the front cakes.

Baking Cookies

  • For best results when baking cookies on 2 racks, use the Convection Bake function, a flat rack in rack position 2, and a Max Capacity Oven rack in rack position 6.
  • Before setting a control knob, place filled cookware on the grate. Do not operate a burner using empty cookware or without cookware on the grate.
  • The flame should be adjusted so it does not extend beyond the edge of the pan.
  • NOTE: Visually check that the burner has lit. If the burner does not ignite, listen for a clicking sound. If you do not hear the igniter click, turn the burner off. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown household fuse. Check that the control knob is pressed completely down on the valve shaft. If the spark igniter still does not operate, call a trained repair specialist.

To Set:
