The RICOH GR III HDF and RICOH GR IIIx HDF have a built-in “Highlight
Diffusion Filter” (HDF) that diffuses light and reducing the contrast of the
entire screen.
The “ND filter” built into the standard model is not installed.
Button Name and Function
“HDF” is printed on the upper side near the Fn button (h) on the back of the camera.
Setting from the Menu
The HDF can be turned ON and OFF in [HDF] of the menu. (Default setting: OFF)
[HDF] is supported by [Memory] of the D2 menu. The [HDF] setting is retained
even after the camera is turned OFF and back ON.
If you do not want the setting to be retained when the camera is turned OFF,
change the [Memory] setting. For more information on [Memory], refer to the
FAQ page on the Ricoh website.
Setting with the Fn Button
The HDF can be turned ON by pressing FN h in the shooting mode. It is turned OFF when FN is pressed again. (Default setting: OFF)
The function of FN can be changed in [Fn Button Setting] of the C2 menu. [HDF] is set by default.
Display on the Monitor
The HDF icon is displayed when the HDF is ON in the shooting mode.
For images shot with the HDF set to ON, the HDF icon is displayed in the
detailed information display in the playback mode.
