Assembly Instructions:

  1. Take each of the (3) legs and bolt them to the fire pit using (6) washers and (6) nuts. Tighten securely.
  2. Assemble (1) ring section to the fire pit using (2) bolts, only loosely tighten the bolts.
  3. Repeat Step 2 for the remaining (2) ring sections. Make sure the (3) ring sections fit together to form a continuous ring. Tighten all bolts securely.
  4. Take each of the (3) cooking grate pins and thread them into the nuts welded on the inside of the fire pit. Do not over tighten.
  5. Place spark guard on cooking grate pins. The spark guard’s purpose is to keep sparks contained in the fire pit. Please use at all times.
  6. Before using, place 5 lbs of sand on the bottom of the fire pit. The sand insulates the area below the pit and protects against the corrosive nature of the ashes.

Product Usage Instructions

  • Multi-Purpose Poker:
    The poker can be used not only for shifting and tending the fire but also for removing the cooking grate, lifting off the spark guard, or pulling Big Sky to another location.

  • Cooking Grate:
    If you would like to grill, place the cooking grate on the cooking grate pins. Please remove the cooking grate when not grilling.

  • Sandpaint Finish:
    Note: Since the heat intensity from the fires will vary depending on the type and amount of fuel used, you may experience minimal peeling or flaking of the paint. This is normal and will not affect the safety or performance of this fire pit.

    A: It is recommended to use natural wood logs as fuel for this fire pit for optimal performance and safety.

  • Q: How do I clean the fire pit after each use?

  • USE CAUTION AFTER THE FIRE HAS BEEN EXTINGUISHED, SURFACES WILL REMAIN HOT FOR SOME TIME.

When unpacking the Big Sky from the carton, make sure you find and become familiar with all the pieces listed below:

TOOLS NEEDED FOR ASSEMBLY:

  • Adjustable Wrench
  • Phillips Screw Driver

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

  • STEP 1
    Take each of the (3) legs and bolt them to the fire pit (as shown in the diagram to the left) using (6) washers and (6) nuts. Tighten securely!

  • STEP 2
    Assemble (1) ring section to the fire pit using (2) bolts, only loosely tighten the bolts.

  • STEP 3
    Repeat STEP 2 for the remaining (2) ring sections. Make sure the (3) ring sections fit together to form a continuous ring. Tighten all bolts securely!

  • STEP 4
    Take each of the (3) cooking grate pins and thread them into the nuts welded on the inside of the fire pit. Do not over-tighten!

  • STEP 5
    Place spark guard on cooking grate pins. The spark guard’s purpose is to keep sparks contained in the fire pit. PLEASE USE at all times.

  • STEP 6
    Before using you must place 5 lbs of sand on the bottom of the fire pit. The sand insulates the area below the pit and protects against the corrosive nature of the ashes.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR USAGE

  • ADDING SAND TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRE PIT HELPS PROTECT AGAINST THE CORROSIVE NATURE OF THE ASHES AND WILL EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE PIT.
  • BURN YOUR FIRE PIT 3 TIMES BEFORE USING TO COOK ON.
  • STORE AWAY OUT OF THE WEATHER AND ELEMENTS.
  • DO NOT LET YOUR FIRE PIT FILL WITH WATER.
  • DO NOT DUMP ASHES WHERE THEY COULD START A FIRE.
  • DISPOSE OF ASHES IN PROPER RECEPTACLE ONLY AFTER ASHES HAVE COOLED.

COOKING GRATE

If you would like to grill, place the cooking grate on the cooking grate pins.
