Product Usage Instructions
- The Distance 1500 comes with two modes: Time Mode and Temperature Mode.
- Time Mode allows the user to use PowerTap to boost the light to maximum output for 10 seconds and then the light fades for 10 seconds to the previously set mode and brightness.
- Temperature Mode maximizes the light output while maintaining safe operating temperatures when PowerTap is activated.
- To switch between Time Mode and Temperature Mode, follow the instructions provided in the accompanying illustrations.
- Refer to the accompanying illustrations for proper storage and transportation guidelines to ensure the longevity of your Distance 1500 headlamp.
- Regularly clean the headlamp using a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.

DISTANCE LED HEADLAMP
IMPORTANT: Follow all instructions carefully and keep them for future
reference.
WARNING!
Due to the high-power output of this light, the product creates
electromagnetic fields that may cause interference with avalanche
transceivers. When using this light on its highest output setting (PowerTap,
1500 lumens) the effective range of avalanche transceivers may be reduced. To
avoid any potential interactions with avalanche transceivers, do not use the
PowerTap when traveling through avalanche terrain. Always keep electronics at
least 50cm away from your avalanche transceiver when performing a search and
follow the transceiver manufacturer recommendations and user manual for
specific guidelines.
BATTERY – RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM-ION Charging
- Charge the battery completely before initial use.
- Battery does not need to be fully discharged before being recharged.
- Battery will automatically stop charging when fully charged.
Battery Life: Your battery life will vary depending on:
- “Recovery time” or time when the lamp has not been on.
- Temperature.
- Settings used.
- A full charge is needed to achieve maximum burn time!
- Dispose of the device/batteries under applicable local laws and regulations.
ANSI FL-1 Standard: Runtime to 10% of initial output.
Reserve: Additional time the lamp will produce usable light for low-
intensity activities (measured to .25 Lux @ 4 meters.)
USE MODES
PROGRAMMING
The Distance 1500 comes packaged in “Time Mode.” Time Mode allows the user to use PowerTap to boost the light to maximum output for 10 seconds and then the light fades for 10 seconds to the previously set mode and brightness. If desired, the light can be reprogrammed to “Temperature Mode.” Temperature Mode maximizes the light output while maintaining safe operating temperatures when PowerTap is activated.

- Inspect your headlamp for proper operation before using it and, for critical situations, carry a second light and sufficient spare batteries
- Do not stare directly into the beam or shine it directly into others’ eyes. Intense light can damage your eyes or the eyes of those around you. Black Diamond Equipment is not responsible for the consequences, whether direct, indirect, or accidental, or for any other type of damage arising or resulting from the use of its products.
- LEDs can generate enough radiant heat to damage or melt some materials. Never place any material over the lens while the light is on. The digital lock should be utilized whenever the light is being transported or not in use (i.e. in a pocket, backpack, etc).
LIMITED WARRANTY
- For 3 years following purchase or delivery, unless otherwise indicated by law, we will warrant to the original retail buyer that our products are free from defects in materials and workmanship as originally sold.
- The Product will be repaired or replaced at our discretion.
- We do not warrant products that show normal wear and tear or that have been used or maintained improperly, modified or altered, or damaged in any manner.
- We reserve the right to require proof of purchase or delivery for all warranty claims.
