INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Keep instructions for future reference. This pamphlet explains the correct use and some common misuses of the climbing equipment depicted in the illustrations. Other possible misuses exist. Correct equipment use and the use of redundant systems will reduce some of the risks associated with climbing. If you lack experience, use this equipment under proper supervision. Always consider how a rescue might be best carried out in case you or others are in need. This Type C sit harness is intended to protect against falls while climbing or mountaineering. It is intended for a conscious body in a sitting position. UHMWPE (Dynex) has a lower coefficient of friction and melting point than traditional textiles.

SIZING PRECAUTIONS
- It is essential that you wear the correct harness size and that it fits you well.
- Before using your harness, hang it from a safe place to ensure you’ve chosen the correct size and adjusted it for a comfortable fit.
- The size designation and circumference range (in centimetres and inches) of Black Diamond harnesses are located on the RN label on the harness waist belt.
- If you are uncertain whether your harness fits you correctly, consult with a qualified climbing instructor.
- Check the buckles and adjustment regularly during use.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Climbing gear must not come into contact with corrosive materials such as battery acid, battery fumes, solvents, chlorine bleach, antifreeze, isopropyl alcohol or gasoline. After contact with salt water or salt air, always rinse and dry textile products, and rinse, dry and lubricate metal products. (See accompanying illustrations)
LIFESPAN, INSPECTION AND RETIREMENT
Climbing gear does not last forever. Inspect your gear before and after each
use, and retire it when it fails inspection or when it reaches its maximum
lifespan: 10 years after the date of manufacture, even if unused and properly
stored. See the accompanying illustrations. Retire your gear immediately if
any of the illustrated conditions are found.
- Additional factors that may reduce the useful life of climbing gear:
- Impact, both severe and mild
- Exposure to heat, sunlight, solvents, fuels, battery acid or battery fumes
- Damage and extreme conditions may shorten your equipment’s useful life and could require retiring the gear during its first use
- Inspect your gear immediately if you suspect damage during use
- If you have any doubts about the dependability of your gear or after a serious fall, retire it.
- Retired gear should be destroyed to prevent future use
- If your harness needs to be disinfected, we recommend that you retire it rather than expose it to harsh chemicals
- Refer to the Markings Section of these instructions to determine the date of manufacture of this equipment
- The lifespan of gear is measured from the date of manufacture, not the date of sale.
