INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
(See accompanying illustrations) Charge the batteries prior to first use. Use
only the supplied charger. Plug both batteries into the charger cable. While
recharging, the light on the charger will be RED. When the charging is
complete, the light will be GREEN.
Note:
- If the RED light is flashing, check the connection of the batteries to the cable.
- If the LED flashes GREEN and RED then one battery is fully charged while the other is not yet full.
Black Diamond Solano Heated Gloves have a control button with an LED heat
level indicator. The control button turns the heating system off and on and
selects the heating level. The LED heat level indicator will be lit
RED for high, YELLOW for medium, and GREEN for low.
Turning on: Press & hold the control button for 2 seconds for “ON” HIGH
(red)
Regulate Press once for MEDIUM (yellow). Press again for LOW (green)
Press a third time for HIGH (red) again.
Turning off: Press & hold the control button for 2 seconds for “OFF”

Be careful when on HIGH (red) to avoid overheating your hands.

Set the power level LOW (green) or MEDIUM (yellow) to maintain a comfortable warmth. The heating should be almost unnoticeable.

The system is most effective when the gloves are dry.

Measured directly on the heating element under laboratory conditions the heating duration per charge depends on the selected heating level, the ambient temperature, and the user’s physical condition, as well as the charging condition of the batteries.

If your glove batteries fail to fully recharge and the gloves have reduced
heating times you will need to replace the batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries can be charged in any state. It is unnecessary to fully
discharge the batteries before charging.
- Do not leave the batteries connected to the charging system for extended periods of time.
- Avoid prolonged non-use.
- Do not store lithium-ion batteries fully depleted, charge 3 hours before storage.
- Store in a cool, dry room (from 5 °C [41 °F] to 20 °C [68 °F]). Disconnect the batteries from the glove heating system.
- For long-term storage, fully recharge the batteries every 6 months. Proper storage of the battery packs maximizes battery performance and longevity.
- Do not crush, incinerate, short circuit, immerse in liquids, or dismantle the batteries.
SPARE PARTS
Spare parts, car chargers, and replacement battery packs for your Black
Diamond Solano Heated Gloves may be purchased from Black Diamond Equipment or
through authorized Black Diamond dealers.
DISPOSAL
- Do not dispose of electrical equipment in unsorted municipal waste.
- Recycle batteries, chargers, and other electronics at the appropriate collection or recycling center.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- Not for use by children 12 and under.
- Please consult your doctor before using these gloves if you have problems sensing hot or cold objects (e.g., diabetics, disabled persons, Raynaud’s, etc.).
- Excessive heat levels over prolonged periods can lead to bums. Check your fingers regularly for reddening of the skin.
- Only use the supplied charger to charge the batteries.
- Always remove batteries from the glove to charge.
- Do not insert any metal or other object into connecting sockets or plugs as this could cause damage to the unit.
- Stop using the unit if you discover any damage to the connecting cables, batteries, or other parts.
- Batteries with a damaged protective film must no longer be used and must be disposed of immediately and properly.

- Do not open the battery.
- Do not throw the batteries into an open fire.
- Improperly handled lithium-ion batteries can explode.
Electrically heated gloves and other electronic devices such as cell phones,
music players, and headlamps can severely interfere with the reception
performance of avalanche beacons. Turn off all electronic devices when
performing a beacon search. If you become buried with your heated gloves
turned on, the search beacon will encounter interference within 50 cm of the
gloves.

direct, indirect, or accidental, or for any other type of damage arising or
resulting from the use of its products. You are responsible for your actions
and activities and for any consequences that may result from them.

LIMITED WARRANTY
For one year following purchase unless otherwise indicated by law, we will
warrant to the original retail buyer only that our products are free from
defects in material and workmanship as originally sold. If you receive a
defective product, return it to us and we will replace it subject to the
following conditions: We do not warrant products that show normal wear and
tear or that have been used or maintained improperly, modified or altered, or
damaged in any manner.
NOTE: This product has been tested and found to comply with the limits
for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These
limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This product generates, uses, and
can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not used in accordance with the
instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However,
there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation. If the product does cause harmful interference to radio,
television, cell phone, or avalanche beacon reception, which can be determined
by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct
the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Increase the separation between the product and receiver
- Turn the product off or to a different setting
