Login to Modem

Open a web browser and go to default URL of https://192.168.1.1 You will then be presented with to Login screen.

(If you have changed the IP range you will need to use the new range)

Please enter the login credentials for the device The default credentials are:
username: admin
password: admin@VX420
Click on Log in.

(If you have changed the credentials you will need to use the new details)
Log In Option
You will be directed to the home page.

Wi-Fi Setup

On the navigation menu on the left, click Wireless.

If you would like to update the SSID and password, enter in new details and click **Save.

** If the Hide SSID is ticked, the network name will not be visible to any devices and will need to be manually configured to each device

To add additional SSIDs click on Multi- SSID.

Tick the enable check box.

We recommend that you enter the same settings as the original SSID, simply making changes to the
Network Name (SSID) and Password.
If the band steering has been disabled, you will need to choose between 2.4/.25Ghz networks. Click Save
Save Option
To turn off band steering, toggle the switch to grey. You can select either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz, enter in the details and click **Save.

** LAN Setup

Click on Advanced in the top tabs.

On the navigation menu on the left select Network and then select **LAN Settings.

Update the IP address here, and then click on Save.**
The below IP Address pool will auto adjust.

WAN Setup

DSL

Click on Advanced in the top tabs.

On the navigation menu on the left select Network and then select DSL.

On the right hand side, you will see the DSL diallers please click the notepad of the dialler you wish to change.

After selecting yourdialler, edit the username and password Click OK to save any changes.

Ethernet

Click on Advanced in the top tabs.

On the navigation menu on the left select Network and then select EWAN.

On the right-hand side, you will see the WAN diallers please click the notepad of the dialler you wish tochange.

After selecting your dialler, edit the username and password Click OK to save any changes.

Please do not change anything else on the page.

To add a new WAN interface, click Add.

Depending on the internet connection type (dropdown)
Dynamic IP =
Automatic IP e-WAN
Static IP =
Assigned IP e-WAN
PPPOE =
PPP Username & Password
Bridge =
Bridge connection (DO NOT USE)
Click OK to save any changes.
Navigation Menu Option
To update VLAN ID, click enable.
All Commander services are tagged VLAN100.

Port Forward Setup

Click on Advanced in the top tabs.

On the navigation menu on the left select NAT Forwarding, then select Virtual Servers.

To add a port forward click **Add.

Select the Interface Name from the dropdown See Matrix below image
Enter the
Application name, for example “Website” in the Service Type
Enter the
WAN port number in the External port field
Enter the computer IP address in the Internal
IP field
Enter the
LAN port number in the Internal Port field
Click
OK** to save any changes.

Framed Route Setup

Click on Advanced in the top tabs.

On the navigation menu on the left select Network , then select **Lan Settings.


**Check the enable box and click Save.

Enter in IP Address and the Subnet Mask details provided by Commander and click Save.

IPSec VPN

Click on Advanced in the top tabs.

On the navigation menu on the left select VPN, then select IPSec.

To setup an IPSec tunnel, click Add.

Enter in the details, (example shown) and click OK.
Please note: The local address is the device you are configuring, and the remote address is the site you wish to access.

To toggle dead peer detection, click on the button shown

The modem will automatically create the Access Control List (ACL) rule to allow the VPN to work once setup on both ends. The Status will change to “Online” and you will be able to ping the other LAN computer.
(You will not be able to ping the LAN gateway 192.168.2.1 when IP Sec is set up)

To delete the ACL rule you first select the VPN you wish to select and click Delete.
We recommend you reboot the modem.

Please note if you are configuring VX420 to VX420 you will need to do this on both devices’ just changing around the LAN IP setting.
