Product Usage Instructions

Battery Installation

WARNING : Adult assembly required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of reach of children.

  1. Make sure the unit is turned Off.
  2. Find the battery cover located on the bottom of the unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.
  3. Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each battery.
  4. Install 3 new AA (LR6/AM-3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

Activating Normal Play Mode
This product is in Try-Me mode in the packaging. To activate normal play mode:

  1. Slide the Off/Low/High Volume Switch from Off to Low or High.
  2. Slide the LED Switch from On to Off or Timer. Marshall will bark when normal play mode is activated.
  3. Slide the LED Switch back to On for best performance.

WARNING : All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE : Please keep this Instruction Manual as it contains important information.

Unlock the Packaging Locks
  1. Rotate the packaging locks 90 degrees counterclockwise.
  2. Pull out the packaging locks and discard.

Battery Removal and Installation

  1. Make sure the unit is turned Off.
  2. Find the battery cover located on the bottom of the unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.
  3. Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each battery.
  4. Install 3 new AA (LR6/AM-3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended).
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION

  • Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
  • Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
  • Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
  • Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
  • Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batter ies in fire.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

  • Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from the toy before charging.
  • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
  • Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

ACTIVATE NORMAL PLAY MODE
This product is in Try-Me mode in the packaging.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  1. Off/Low/High Volume Switch
    To turn the unit On or to adjust the volume, set the switch to Low or High . To turn the unit Off , set the switch to Off .

  2. LED Timer/Off/On Switch
    Set the switch to On to play the LED effects, or Off to turn the LEDs off. Set the switch to Timer for 10 minutes of soft lights and stories that shut off automatically.

Note : The Timer cannot be used to limit play time. Pressing any button will reset the 10-minute countdown.

  1. Pup Tag Buttons
    Press one of the Pup Tag Buttons to play a story. Press it again to pause. Pup Tag Buttons are also used to play interactive activities with Marshall and the PAW Patrol.

  2. Action Button
    Press the Action Button to hear character phrases, music, or play interactive activities with Marshall and the PAW Patrol.

  3. Light-up Hydrant and Base
    If the lights in the hydrant and base are off during play, check the LED Timer/Off/On Swtich.

  4. Automatic Shut Off
    To preserve battery life, the PAW Patrol Storytime With Marshall storyteller will automatically shut off after approximately 60 seconds without input when the LED Timer/Off/On Switch is set to On or Off . When the switch is set to Timer , the storyteller will shut off after approximately 10 minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.

  5. Low Battery Warning
    When the batteries are low, the LED in the hydrant will flash 3 times and the storyteller will announce “Low Battery.” The storyteller will then shut off automatically. See page 4 for Battery Removal and Installation instructions.

Listen to a Story
Press a Pup Tag Button to play a story. Press it again to pause the story.

Play with Marshall and the Paw Patrol
Press the Action Button to listen to character phrases, music or play interactive activities with Marshall and the PAW Patrol. The Action Button responses play at random, so each press is a surprise!
There are 10 interactive activities to discover and play. Press the Pup Tag Buttons when listeners are invited to play along. Choose a pup to respond to 5 rescue missions. Get up and move in a dance game inspired by Pup Pup Boogie, or try a playful calming mindfulness exercise. Kids are challenged to listen closely to a pattern and anticipate the next pup in the sequence. Two make- believe prompts encourage kids to use their imaginations to play like the PAW Patrol.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

  1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
  2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
  3. Remove the batteries if the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
  4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn the unit Off.
  2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
  3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
  4. Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to use again.
  5. If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries.

FAQ

How do I know when the batteries are low?
When the batteries are low, the LED in the hydrant will flash 3 times and the storyteller will announce Low Battery. The storyteller will then shut off automatically. Refer to page 4 for Battery Removal and Installation instructions.
