Product Usage Instructions
Installation

  1. Step 1: Cut a rough opening in the mounting surface (11.25 x 8) by a trained RF Vendor/Installer.

  2. Step 2: Determine the Shielding Material direction and mount the product accordingly with the supplied
    gasket. Refer to Diagram 1.

  3. Step 3: Place the provided gasket along the flange’s inner edge and ensure it is clean before applying. See Diagram 2.

  4. Step 4: Secure the product and gasket in place using the supplied screws around the perimeter of the flange.

  5. Step 5: Follow project-specific plans for wiring instructions. Open the AC wiring compartment as per Diagram 4. Use appropriate connector clamps for wiring.

Electrical Connections
The PSF16 Channel Power Supply can power PDC ethernet wiring fixtures and control up to 4 light zones independently. Use the correct wire diagram based on the number of zones and luminaire types.
For 0-10V dimming, shorting the wires together will shut off that zone. Use Lutron Diva or Leviton IllumaTech dimmers for best compatibility.

FAQ:
Q: Can I use any dimmer with this power supply?
A: Yes, you can use any standard 3-way 0-10V dimmer with this power supply. PDC recommends Lutron Diva or Leviton IllumaTech dimmers for optimal performance.

Installation

NOTE: The PSF 16 Channel Power Supply and Filter Pack must be orientated so the AC power Connections are in the equipment room. The product will be labeled SCAN ROOM SIDE.

  1. Step 1:
Cut a rough opening in the intended mounting surface measuring 11.25” x 8”. This Step should be performed by a trained RF Vendor/Installer.

  2. Step 2:
Note whether the Shielding Material of the wall is facing the Equipment Room or the MRI Room. This will determine how to secure the PSF 16 Channel Power Supply and Filter Pack in place. The flange must be mounted against the shielding material with the supplied gasket in between. Reference Diagram 1.

  3. Step 3:
Place the provided gasket along the inner edge of the flange so it is held in place between the flange and the shielding surface. See Diagram 2. Be sure the shielding and power supply plate are clean before applying the RF Gasket.

  4. Step 4:
Secure the PSF 16 Channel Power Supply and Filter Pack and gasket in place with the supplied screws using the 20 screw holes located around the perimeter of the flange.

  5. Step 5:
Reference the project specific plans for complete wiring instructions to make the appropriate Electrical Connections. Reference Diagram 4 for instruction on how to open the AC wiring compartment.
Note: Knockouts are provided. Use an appropriately sized connector clamp to secure the wiring entering and leaving the Filter Pack. Additional knockouts may be added if necessary.
Note: A divider will be provided from the factory to separate Class 1 and Class 2 wiring. If using Class 1 wiring, the divider can be removed as shown in Diagram 3.

Electrical Connections

This supply can be used to remotely power any of PDC “ethernet wiring” fixtures. The power supply can be wired to control up to 4 independent controlled light zones. Use the table below to determine the correct wire diagram (wire diagram 1-5) for the number of zones and types of luminaires on each zone Any standard 3-way 0-10V dimmer can be used. PDC recommends using Lutron Diva (DVSTV) or Leviton IllumaTech (IPX12) . When the 0-10V wires are shorted together that zone will shut off. If another 0-10V dimmer is used it must be wired so the common of the switch is connected to the gray dimming wire and the normally open wire is connected to the violet wire of the switch.

Wiring For 1 Light Control Zones (Maximum Fixtures Per Zone)

Emergency backup:
The PSF16 power supply is capable of connection directly to an IOTA 125W battery backup. This unit can be purchased directly from PDC (part number 3-23-000203). Refer to Wiring Diagram #8 for electrical connections

Note:
Emergency operation when wired per Wiring Diagram #8 the fixture will operate as normal when normal AC is present. During the loss of AC the unit will turn on luminaires #1 – #4 to full level. All of the other luminaires in the room will go to a full dim level
