SAFETY RULES
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:
- WARNING : USE ONLY UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION.
- The vehicle is not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Injury could result to younger children, who may not have the coordination required for correct and safe vehicle operation.
- Never permit the vehicle to be ridden in the street or near parked or moving cars.
- Never permit the vehicle to be operated on wet surfaces, near stairways, or on snowy or icy surfaces.
- Only 2 riders at one time – weight limit is 130 pounds total.
- Never allow switches to become wet.
- Never place any part of the body, clothing or other articles near moving parts.
- Children must wear shoes while riding in the vehicle.
- Always use common sense.
- The batteries and their recharging should be handled only by adults… never children.
TO OPERATE
- Do not operate the vehicle for the first time until you have inserted 30 amp fuses in batteries and charged for 18 hours.
- To go – press foot pedal To stop – release foot pedal.
- For reverse – press selector switch to reverse position and press foot pedal. Low speed only.
- Speeds : Low speed – 2-1/2 mph. High-speed – 5 mph.
High-speed hook-up and speed selection:
- For your child’s protection, the vehicle is sold with the high speed selection disconnected.
- To add high speed capability, parent should connect wires together as shown (see illustration).
- Child can then choose between high speed and low speed using the speed control switch.
Note : High speed must be used for multiple-surface usage.
SOUND MODULE
When replacing batteries:
- Orient batteries properly (see diagram).
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline batteries with rechargeable batteries.
- Replace with 3 new batteries, size 357A (nominal 1.5 volts) or equivalent.
- Replacement batteries can be purchased from a dealer who carries watch batteries or call Power Wheels Customer Service.
BATTERIES: SAFETY RULES
NEVER ALLOW CHILDREN TO HANDLE THE BATTERIES
The battery is a sealed lead-acid type (9.5 Amp hours).
If a battery becomes damaged and leaks:
- Avoid contact with leaking acid. If battery acid comes in contact with your skin or clothes: flush with cool water for at least 15 minutes.
- Remove from vehicle immediately and place in plastic bag for disposal.
- If ingested internally, give water, milk of magnesia or egg whites immediately.
DO NOT GIVE EMETICS OR INDUCE VOMITING. CALL A DOCTOR.
BATTERIES: REPLACEMENT AND CARE
Warning : Your Power Wheels vehicle must be powered only by Power Wheels
Type H batteries. Always replace both batteries at the same time. Charging an
old battery with a new one may damage both.
To purchase, contact the store where your vehicle was purchased or call Power
Wheels Customer Service at the number listed on page 3 of this manual.
REMEMBER: THE 1ST TIME YOU CHARGE THE BATTERIES – CHARGE FOR 18 HOURS.
- Do not store batteries in extreme heat or cold.
- Fully charge batteries before vehicle is put into storage, and once a month until normal use is resumed.
- Ensure the batteries are securely fastened inside the battery compartment.
- Batteries and charger should be examined periodically for wear and damage. If damage is detected, they should not be used and should be replaced.
BATTERIES: RECHARGING
RECHARGING (Remember, recharging should be performed by adults only.)
WARNING : FAILURE TO RECHARGE BATTERIES PROPERLY WILL DESTROY THEM!
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

Be sure good 30-amp fuses are installed.

Squeeze tabs on the motor harness connector and pull to disconnect the battery connectors.

Squeeze tabs on the charger and push into battery connectors to lock in.

Plug charger into a standard outlet.
IMPORTANT : Before using your charger, make sure it is compatible with the nominal line voltage and frequency in your home. The voltage and frequency for which the charger was designed is marked on the charger case. If you do not have the proper charger for your home, do not use the charger. Contact:- Dealer where your vehicle was purchased
- Power Wheels customer service, page 3. Using a charger that is not compatible with your home can result in damage or serious injury.

Charge batteries for 18 hours the first time. After that, recharge batteries for a minimum of 14 hours. Do not exceed 30 hours.
Note : While charging, the charger may become warm to the touch. This is a normal condition and does not indicate a problem.
OPERATIONAL PROBLEMS
IF THE VEHICLE FAILS TO OPERATE DO NOT RETURN THE VEHICLE TO THE RETAIL STORE. A quick check will solve most problems in minutes. \

Are fuses installed in batteries?
Are fuses blown? If so, replace it. -
Are all wiring connections secure?

VEHICLE RUNS SLUGGISHLY
- Were batteries recharged (with good fuses installed)?

VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY BLOWS FUSES
- Are 30-amp fuses being used?
- Are motor wires securely attached?

VEHICLE RUNS IN LOW SPEED ONLY
- Check high-speed wire hook-up. If, after completing the above checklist, the vehicle still fails to operate, then please contact Power Wheels Customer Service at the number listed on page 3 of this manual. A trained technician will help you solve the problem.
