Product Usage Instructions
Installing
Install the Access Control Core in the enclosure using the included bracket:
- Unscrew the retaining screw, slide the device into the bracket, and tighten.
- Secure the bracket to the enclosure using washers and fasteners.
Wiring
Connect the Access Control Core to an Ethernet cable with internet access.
Provisioning
- Create an Avigilon Alta Control Center user account.
- Follow the steps in Alta Control Center to create an organization and add devices.
- Connect devices to an organization using the Avigilon Alta Access app.
- Connect the Access Control Core to an Avigilon expansion board using the USB cable.
- Connect the Access Control Core to a power supply using the included power cable.
- Optional: Monitor tamper events by attaching the tamper wire to the enclosure and plug into the Access Control Core.
FAQ
What do the different Status LED indicators mean?
The Status LED indicators signify various states of operation:
- Solid green: Operating as expected
- Solid cyan: Booting up
- Solid yellow: Restoring software
- Blinking yellow: Updating software
- Solid blue: Not provisioned
- Solid purple: Connected to Avigilon Alta Access app
- Blinking purple: Ready to connect to Avigilon Alta Access app
- Blinking red: Not connected to internet
- Solid red: Error, see Alta Control Center on your computer
How should I address potential FCC Compliance concerns?

Installing
- Install the Access Control Core in the enclosure using the included bracket.
Wiring
- Connect the Access Control Core to an Ethernet cable with internet access.
- Connect the Access Control Core to an Avigilon expansion board (not included) using the USB cable.
- Connect the Access Control Core to a power supply using the included power cable.
Warning: Do not apply power during wiring. Ensure the power supply is unplugged until all wiring is complete.
- Optional. To monitor tamper events, attach the included tamper wire to the tamper switch on the enclosure and plug into the Access Control Core.

Before you start, you’ll need an Avigilon Alta Control Center user account. To create and register for an account, visit:

Follow the steps in Alta Control Center to create an organization and add devices.

To connect devices to an organization, use the Avigilon Alta Access app.
- In the app, tap Devices at the bottom.
- Tap Scan for Devices or button, and follow the instructions.
