Precautions

  • This product requires two AA batteries, not included.
  • When you fit the plates together, pay attention to their orientation (look carefully at the pictures) and nest them gently.
  • When you connect the wires to the motor, make sure to put them in the correct position: the black wire to the left of the motor and the red wire to the right of the motor (as in picture 1).
  • When installing the orange sockets, make sure to leave a small space of 1mm between them and the plates.

  1. To begin, connect the red and black wires from the battery box to the copper strip on the motor. To do this, insert the wires into the notch then twist them on themselves.
Pay attention to the direction of the wires: the black wire to the left of the motor and the red wire to the right of the motor.

  2. Fit plates 3 and 4 to the ends of the motor as shown in the image.
Place the worm gear onto the metal rod of the motor. It is necessary that the worm gear is inserted on one third of the motor rod.

  3. Place the gear in the middle of the rod.
And add the orange sockets on each side, as in the picture.

  4. Fit the motor plates onto plate 1 then also fit plate 5.
Insert the rod with the gear and another rod into plate 1.
To finish, fit the second plate 1 on the other side.
Secure the assembly on the sides with 7mm screws.

  5. Secure the battery box to plate 5 with two 4mm screws.
The gear and the worm gear must be in contact with each other.

  6. Pass the heading shaft through the end (last hole) of the rocker arms then through plate 2. Add a orange socket to the end of the heading shaft that comes out of plate 2.
Then install the rocker arms (from the assembly you have just formed) on the rods which protrude from plates 1. Be careful, the rocker arms must be symmetrical.

When installing, you can rotate the worm gear to change the installation direction.
Make sure everything is well aligned and symmetrical otherwise your Spider Bot will not move forward correctly

  1. Remove the plastic film from the back of the eyes and stick them to the front of the battery as shown in the picture.

Learning with fun

Discover the principle of the Spider Bot:
A world in motion thanks to levers

The Spider Bot works according to the principle of transmission of movement using levers or otherwise called rockers.

Levers are rigid objects that pivot around a point called a pivot. They allow objects to be pushed or moved by applying force to one end.

How does Spider Bot work?

When you operate your Spider Bot, the batteries transform their chemical energy into electrical energy, which they transmit to the Spider Bot’s motor. This electricity is then transformed into movement. The rocker arms come into action. They rotate around a point called a “pivot” and transmit force to other parts of the Spider Bot. It’s like you can give life! Thanks to the levers, your Spider Bot can move forward.
It’s fascinating to see how the levers work. They act like little muscular arms that transmit force so your Spider Bot can move.
